As far as gardening goes I am extremely lazy, although it is wonderful to admire a garden in full bloom, it’s the hours of back breaking work – mainly weeding that puts me off! Having let the garden maintenance slide slightly this year I am paying for it now as my garden is full of moss and there are many more weeds than there were last year. Admittedly I did treat myself to a very good Flymo this year which is a joy to use.
Using my fabulous glider lawn mower is great and makes light work of my two lawns, the weeds posed a big problem. Not one to dig them out due to wanting to look after my nails(!) I am a fan of weed killer as it generally does the job, with little fuss and no nail damage.
Roundup this year launched their weed killer gel, which makes the whole weeding process as easy as using a glider lawn mower. I was more than happy to try out the Roundup Weed Killer Gel for the purpose of this review.
Once I had figured out how to open the blue lid I realised how much the gel reminded me of Dove deodorant. Very random, but I do like the design and the ability to pump the gel meant the product was very precise and that I only used what I actually needed on the pesky weeds. After applying all I had to do was sit back, relax, look after my nails and let the weed killer take effect.
I love the fact that Roundup usage guide states a 150ml bottle can kill up to 1000 weeds. Clearly they have not seen my garden as I have some monsters out there!
Does it actually work? Well, yes it does! There was significant shrinkage of the weeds I applied the gel to and they were most certainly killed off. I just wish that the weeds didn’t appear in the first place for me to use this product. I shall definitely be looking after my garden over the winter (the gel can be used from February to November) so that hopefully a nice Spring will arrive with little hard labour required from me.
Disclosure: I was sent a bottle of the most fabulous Roundup Weed Killer Gel for the purpose of this post.
