The holiday was the first time we got to properly test out the wonderful Quinny Zapp Xtra, though as usual I forgot something and that turned out to be the raincover, fortunately for us it did not rain at all whilst we were there!
As usual my mother took charge, lots of fussing and making sure LO was wrapped up like a kipper (see pic), though for once it was lovely for myself and hubby to have some time on our own and we made the most of being able to run around the 2 parks like loonies going on all the rollercoasters!
The Quinny Zapp Xtra fared very well indeed and considering LO is very active and independent she was extremely comfy in the stroller. The new reclining aspect of the Zapp Xtra is fantastic and certainly came in hand whilst walking around the parks as it enabled us to continue with our day whilst LO slept soundly horizontally in complete comfort. The shopping basket also came in very handy too and I am sure my mother will have exceeded the maximum weight load by cramming with all sorts of food and drink and wonderful presents for LO.
As you can imagine we saw many hundreds… possibly thousands of prams and strollers whilst at Disneyland Paris and in that mix were lots of the original Quinny Zapp strollers. We used the Quinny Buzz 3 when LO was a baby and am loyal to the brand however we had never tried the original Quinny Zapp so I took great delight in pointing out all the new, exciting features to my family whenever we saw a Zapp. We certainly received some jealous looks when we reclined the Quinny Zapp Xtra!
Although we did not get to use the raincover we did have to use the hood (due to the wonderful sunshine!!!) and was amazed at how far it pulled over and shielded LO, it was fantastic to use when she was asleep and to give her privacy.
The chassis is very light weight and this made it very easy to manoeuvre through the crowds and the surprisingly high kerbs in the park. Getting on and off the park buses was a slight struggle however this was more down to ignorant people crowding the buses and not helping in anyway rather than anything else. I do feel that the cross bar which connects the two handles at the top of the chassis appears to be quite flimsy however I never felt unsure about using the Zapp Xtra. All in all I am pretty sure over the 6 days we were at Disneyland Paris we gave our lovely Rebel Red Quinny Zapp Xtra a thorough testing and so far we are all very impressed!
Even with all the extra baggage coming home we were able to easily store the Zapp Xtra, which folds down in two parts (the chassis and the seat) in our boot. For women on their own when out and about it is reassuring the stroller is so light weight and easy to fix up and down. There are also handy reminders (numbers) on the sections you need to press in a special order. This is a great feature although I do think it has been done with men in mind!!
We have had the stroller 2 weeks now and so far so good! I am sure living in Manchester we will get plenty of opportunities to road test with the rain cover!
Right I had better get back to uploading my holiday images now!! ( I would also like to thank the QuinnyCaster Masters for sending our Quinny Zapp Xtra in time for our holiday!!)
