The serum is 95% organic, containing African Star Grass, Tara, Wild Rosehip and Alfalfa, all magical sounding extracts combined together in a wonderful dark blue glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The bottle reminded me of something that could be found in apothecary table! The box packaging contains information about all the ingredients used to make this amazing product alongside directions.
I used the Brightening Serum after cleansing and toning and before moisturising. I do not use the Neal’s Yard Remedies Daily Brightening and can only imagine using this product after the serum would be very refreshing for my face. The pump dispenser is fantastic for achieving the minimal amount required to use on your face, thus making the product great value for money. The aroma reminded me slightly of ginger beer (!) and I could certainly distinguish the rosehip.
Upon application I found the serum to be much lighter than expected and it did not leave a greasy residue on my face or hands. It dried almost instantly and I was able to apply my moisturiser straight away. My skin immediately looked and felt tighter, looked refreshed and my skin had a wonderful glow to it. Since using this product in the cold weather I have noticed that my skin is a little more protected than normal and does not suffer with the cold winds as it usually does.
This serum priced at £39.50 is certainly a secret weapon for any skincare regime and I for one shall continue to use this product. I have to admit that I have always found my skin to have a very positive reaction to organic products and I do think they are worth paying that little extra for and Neal’s Yard Remedies Brightening Serum is no exception.
