You may recall from my review of the SpaRitual Nail Lacquer Evolve range for 2011 that I am a huge fan of the vegan beauty brand! What is not to like when the luxurious nail lacquers come in eco friendly bottles that with a brush that glides effortlessly over your nails for perfect coverage.
Again, I was extremely lucky to be sent two colours from the Spring/Summer 2012 Water range – a special collection with a charitable edge as SpaRitual has a global partnership with Surge, a non-profit organisation that improves access to clean, safe water for communities around the world. SpaRitual donate 20% of the proceeds from the Water collection to Surge.
The colours I received (in Mini form – 5ml priced at £5.00 (ex.VAT) per bottle – also available in 15ml bottles priced at £8.50 (ex.VAT)) were:
A really ornate, muted pink/coral colour with added pink and gold shimmery flecks. An absolutely stunning colour to wear and perfect for sunny days where the sun picks out the shimmer. The bottle really does not do this colour justice at all and I would recommend anyone try this. It is perfect for nail varnish novices and also addicts like myself. I would defy anyone not to fall instantly in love with this colour which is perfect to dress up and down.
I have worn this several times now and have found the quality of the nail lacquer to far outweigh that of any other brand I have tried (that is non gel/acrylic based). The last time I wore Hidden Reef, there were no noticeable chips for over a week. Considering in this time I had hauled myself (and a car load of luggage) to London and back it was outstanding!
EBB & FLOW
Admittedly I did have to do a double take when I first saw this colour. A vibrant, block colour Turquoise/ Aqua Blue that is not for the faint hearted. Initial thoughts were that it would make a fabulous colour for toe nails in the summer, perfect for flip flops and a must see colour for the beach. Though I took the leap and applied myself (funnily enough I am much better now after all this practice!) to my fingernails. Once the top coat was applied the colour really did look amazing, it isn’t half as scary as the bottle suggests. It is definitely noticeable, eye catching, not as scary (or luminous) as it looks and needs to be warn with attitude! Perfect for the summer!
*Both sets of manicures were applied by myself, so many apologies for not showing off these colours on the best nails! SpaRitual offer professional quality nail lacquers, with many salons and trained professionals favouring the brand due to the vegan ingredients and the fact the lacquers do not damage your nails.
**I also apologise for the quality of the images, they really do not do the SpaRitual Nail Lacquers justice… I guess you will just have to try them too!
