The past month has flown by in a whirlwind. Since Liv’s full time nursery place at her new nursery was confirmed we have had several inductions with her final classroom visit next week. Liv has thoroughly enjoyed it and already made some new friends which is fantastic.
I feel very reassured that she will cope well with the move from her current pre-school, which sadly is closing down after 45 years this summer. It really will be a great move for her and the setup is amazing! The teachers and assistants are all super lovely and I am positive Liv will come on leaps and bounds. Being very astute for her age and all the new resources will definitely aid her development.
As the nursery is attached to a school, Liv will need to wear a uniform and I have most of this now, we are just waiting on school branded sweaters and a fleece. She is going to look super cute and grown up and no doubt the very first day will be emotional for all parents watching the children walk in on their very first day.
I have no doubt that being in full time will be a culture shock for Liv and I am fully prepared for the fact she may (hopefully!) go to bed slightly earlier for the first couple of weeks. The peace and quiet will be wonderful! Full days will also mean that I can finally increase my working hours which will be a godsend! I am praying for the days when the house will actually be tidy all day long as the “tornado” will not be here.
It will most definitely be an emotional time, it’s the start of Liv’s educational journey and we all know how long that seems to last! At school an hour long Physics or Latin class seems to last a lifetime! My baby girl is growing up now and the teenage years are closer every day. I have a feeling they will be great fun! 🙁
For the moment I will make sure we have a fabulous summer holiday (weather dependent!) and will do my best to avoid the inevitable and dreaded Clarks queue when buying school shoes!
