Desire and Pleasure
What will 2012 be remembered for? The Olympics? The Queen’s Jubilee? Christian Grey?
There is no denying that the “50 Shades” trilogy cooked up a storm. The most talked about book collection of 2012 finally hurdled over the sex taboo and made it acceptable for women (and men!) to read about the rather racy sexual exploits of Christian Grey and Anna Steele… in public. There were no holes barred in the books (no pun intended!) and it certainly gave myself and my friends a different view at the sex industry.
There is nothing seedy about the postman knocking at your door, with a special package that you have ordered online. In fact it is quite liberating and highly amusing when your friend collects your parcel for you!
The FPA (Family Planning Association) sexual health clinic also thinks so, as they have recently launched Desire and Pleasure, an online shop which sells sex products and toys. They understand that people prefer anonymity when it comes to purchasing products to fulfil their needs. Yet with the influx of the ‘bad and ugly’ online sex shops, Desire and Pleasure most definitely offer the ‘good’ aspect with ethical products and none of the cringe-some gubbins used to describe similar products on other sites.
The site is nicely laid out, with a fantastic spread of products whether you are a novice or nympho. The FPA have insisted that the site stays clear of any products with offensive names or packaging, or that portrays violence or aggression. All profits will go to the FPA to support its charitable work across the UK. With expert advice on hand, the site also links with FPA.org.uk, in case you have any concerns regarding your sexual health.
I think it is quite admirable that the FPA have delved into the vast minefield that is the sexual revolution and can do it in such a lovely, fuzzy way. The products on the site are of the high quality I would expect and I certainly enjoyed searching for items to stock up with!
By ordering from Desire and Pleasure, not only will you be doing yourself or your partner a good turn, but you will also be supporting a vital UK charity.
I have not been paid for this post, though I have been paid in kindness and I expect the postman will be knocking on my door anytime soon!
