This week looks to be back to normal on the weight loss front, I really do think that being ill with laryngitis has helped as I have not been eating. A loss of 2lbs has made me happy, and is definitely keeping me on track.
This week I was sent the new Weight Watchers weekly task… in a nutshell… how do you cope with special occasions or times when you know you may not be able to stick to your points.
Well, funnily enough the reason for my little weight gain last week was due to it being my 30th birthday. In my mind I always knew that I would ‘take the weekend off’ and just enjoy myself – it is a once in a life time opportunity after all! Cue, Dominos, Taboo Voodoo’s, Frankie & Benny’s (we won’t discuss the crappy meal we had there – that is for another post!) and just general junk. I knew I would not lose any weight and was fully prepared for putting a little weight on. The key is to know you will put weight on and then it is not a surprise when it does happen – easier said than done but a slight increase can surprise people, even though they know they have not stuck to the diet.
Maybe my positive attitude about this has come from my time on Lipotrim. Even if I had just one meal I could easily put on 4-5 pounds immediately. So the fact I only put on 1.5lbs after scoffing myself silly was quite nice.
I then motivated myself to get back on my diet track and have seen another loss. Gaining weight is not the end of the world, you just have to get back on track.
Last weekend we had a family meal and I knew that despite all the veg on my plate and lovely homemade vegetable soup, pork crackling was not going to be kind to me points wise. I was fully aware ahead of the day about the meal… so how did I prepare? Simple, I had my usual cup of tea, one sugar and milk (1 Weight Watchers Pro Point) and my usual Weight Watchers Layered Fromage Frais ( 1 Weight Watchers Pro Point) and that is all I had till the meal. After the meal I had nothing at all as I had a full belly! Basically with forward thinking and careful planning, by having my usual breakfast I knew I had 35 points to play with for the day, (I am allowed 37) plus the additional weekly 49 pro points if needed.
Don’t deny yourself what you want as you will end up resenting the diet, have treats in moderation and make sure you forward plan if you are attending a special occasion where the yummy food will be plentiful. Don’t be surprised if your weight remains the same or you actually have a weight gain, you know what you ate and you know what you have to do to lose the weight again!
I can honestly say Weight Watchers is really working for me, family and friends are commenting and I am shocked by how drastically my daily eating habits have changed. My fridge still remains stocked with healthy products even 5 weeks after starting the diet, so it is full steam ahead for me! Even though Ocado have set me back by not sending me my Weight Watchers wraps this week 🙁
