Mother’s Day Gift Ideas – A Random Selection Of Treats

by S1m

With Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th March 2013, time is rapidly running out to choose a wonderful treat to spoil your mum with on the special day. We all know how special our Mum’s are to us, but what do you do to give her a much needed day off? Wash the pots? Walk the dog? Cook dinner?

If you are stuck for ideas, here is a rundown of fail safe treats your mum will love!

Flowers:

Everyone loves to receive a beautiful, vibrant bouquet of flowers… but what if you could make it even more special by designing the bouquet yourself? My Interflora Creation is a very handy tool that allows you to let your creative flair run free! Choosing from different vases and hand tied arrangements right down to the different coloured bow you would prefer. I tried my hand at this and as you can see from the images really shouldn’t give up my day job! Becoming a florist clearly isn’t my vocation! The service is very easy to use, you can easily chop and change between a wide variety of different flowers in a range of colours to suit the occasion. Whatever you design will be made exactly! I am a huge fan of Gerbera flowers, they always look so beautiful and never fail to make me smile… of course they were a main feature in my bouquet! With delivery from £5.99, Interflora makes giving floral gifts a stress free process no matter how near or far you are from loved ones.

Skincare:

Always a hard one as you never wish to offend by purchasing skincare, especially when it comes to anti-ageing. Though I do believe we are in an era where people care more about their skincare regime and I certainly would not baulk if I were handed products that could rewind time!

For the past few weeks I have been using the Forest Secrets iRejuvenate Hand and Body cream. Winter is always so harsh on my skin and I find that my hands can become very dry. Using the cream every day has really helped aid moisture back into my hands and make my knuckles a lot less drier than they normally would be. Applied to the body, the cream soaks in well leaving a wonderful lavender fragrance that is very uplifting. The entire Forest Secrets range is made from 100% Natural goodness which is always reassuring – the company are approved by the Vegan society and all products are dermatologically tested. I also had the opportunity to test the extremely adorable Personalised Skincare Try Me Set which contains 3 little bottles with pipettes (super cute!!) featuring the iBright Serum, iRejuvenate Plus Elixir and the iRejuvenate Plus Serum. They have done wonders for my face which just like my hands, has been suffering terribly with the changeable weather. My skin looks brighter and healthier than it has done of recent times. All these products have an anti age benefit to them but you could never tell from the packaging! A fantastic range that your mum will love!

The Melatogenine AOX Probotics Plus eye cream from Gatineau is worth its weight in gold! With eye bags that could quite easily carry my weekly grocery shopping, I needed nothing short of magic to repair the damage many late nights have caused. I was kindly sent some small 5ml testers of the cream which are perfect for keeping in my pocket and taking out with me. There has been no excuse not to use the cream and help my poor tired eyes. Have the lines and bags disappeared… not quite, I think the damage has now been done but there has been a remarkable difference from using the cream. My eyes no longer look as drawn and they are most definitely finding their sparkle again. For mums with tired eyes this will give them a treat with a difference!

Chocoholics:

A traditional gift to give to a lovely mum on Mother’s Day but for a special treat there is none other like Lindt. I am drooling just typing about the Mother’s Day chocolates! Sophisticated chocolate for sophisticated mums – this is one brand of chocolate that needs to be savoured with each bite and definitely not shared! For the first time ever I tried the Cookies and Cream and Nougat Crunch chocolate balls from the Hello Chocolate Balls cube. Oh my days were they good!! I cannot even begin to imagine how many Weight Watchers points they are but I really did not care, they were worth every single calorie! A super cute box complete with ribbon. The Hello Thank You box includes 4 different chocolates and are a handy pocket size, not that you could keep them in your pocket for long!

Something quirky:

Purple Ronnie has been around years, offering fun and quirky gifts to make the recipient smile. With a fantastic range of gifts for Mother’s Day including Perfect Mummy Mug and Engraved Star Trinket Box. All colour, all funky and perfect keepsakes!

Disclosure: I was sent a range of the gifts mentioned in order to write this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
