Argo & Scooby Doo DVD Reviews – Random Combination

by S1m

Liv and I were certainly given a treat recently when Warner Brothers sent us the latest Scooby Doo and Argo DVDs (with UV, though I still have not used this!). I was in my element as I had not managed to find the time to watch Argo at the cinema, so fully appreciated I could watch it in my own home in my own time.

As soon as Scooby Doo popped through our letterbox, the rather cute WB gift paper was ripped off and the DVD was playing before I even blinked.

Scooby Doo Mask Of The Blue Falcon

Scooby Doo: Mask of the Blue Falcon follows the team investigating a mystery at the Mega Mondo Pop Cartoon-A-Con in this feature length adventure. You would have thought someone would have cottoned on that incidents always occur when Scooby, Shaggy and the gang are present! The film had both and I hooked for its entirety. The story is very good, Liv found it easy to follow and keep up with the story and the balance of bad guys was perfect. A great family film, which will have children and adults alike watching all the way through.

Argo – what can I possibly say that the tremendous haul of awards already hasn’t? Based on a true story regarding the American hostage crisis that occurred in Iran in 1979 the film has you gripped from the outset. Ben Affleck, known for directing dubious films in the past surpassed himself with Argo. Starring in the film himself I have to admit that he played the part well. Always as Matt Damon fan. Ben worked his way up in my estimation and Argo certainly now ranks highly in my list of ‘must see films’. When your heart is in your mouth, you simply cannot look away from the action and you actually feel for the characters, you know you have a winner. The film is based on the true events but after a little research upon watching the film, certain parts were changed in order to make for better cinematic viewing. When watching the film it is best to have an open mind and remember it is true to a point.

I now find myself using a fantastic quote/catchphrase from the film, absolute genius! This is a film I will certainly be watching again soon and not just placing at the back of my cabinet to maybe watch again.
