Liv recently received a wonderful package filled to the brim with Poppy Cat goodies – being a huge fan she was in her element! Having previously reviewed items in the Poppy Cat range I was impressed to see a backpack – extremely handy as we are getting to the time of year where Liv and I want to be out and about exploring and spending hours in the fresh air!
The package arrived with information on Poppy Cat’s latest partnership – with The Woodland Trust! Now, I am fully aware of the trust, though with limited time to spare these days had never really paid attention before *sorry TWT!!*
On the 19th April 2013 an outdoor campaign was launched on the VisitWoods.org.uk website – perfect for pre-schoolers with an offering of an ‘Adventure’ platform!
The site itself holds information on woods around the UK that are open to the public… in fact, it has information on over 11,000 woods!
So how does Poppy Cat come into this? Go on the site and have a look! Lots of fabulous Poppy Cat content is available on the site with activity materials that can easily be downloaded which focus on ‘Mystery Trial Adventures’ – if your child is anything like mine, just hearing the word ‘mystery’ is enough to capture their imagination! The content is perfect for children aged 2-6 years and will help them engage and fully immerse themselves into the UK’s woods – something that can be overlooked sometimes, but prove to be a heap of fun and great places to learn about wildlife and the countryside around us.
As Poppy Cat herself likes to partake in the odd adventure of two, it is fitting that this partnership has come together!
Nick Jr. is airing nature themed episodes of Poppy Cat for the next two weeks – every day at 7:15pm (from April 18th 2013) – something we will definitely be watching, along with having a look on the VisitWoods site to see where we can go on our next mission.
