My mind is currently awash with decorating… I’ve even brushed off my old Home and Garden magazines for inspiration for the big home improvement project. Things must be serious!
Taking part in the recent MoneySupermarket Room For Improvement challenge has really spurred me on to do more than just paint… I don’t think I did a bad job on my own, considering I was balancing looking after Liv on half term. The red colour has certainly proved a talking point 😛
The whole decorating project is great and I know which colours I would like to coordinate in all the different rooms, I do however have a problem with accessorizing. I am aware I have a 4 year old daughter who loves to touch absolutely everything so glassware and anything delicate and precious is most definitely out of bounds. Picture frames and cool artwork is a must… but more substantial furniture has me stumped. I have always been inspired by Indian furniture, I’ve always found it to be intricate in design and would certainly give a different feel to my living room.
I seriously lack storage space in my house and that is telling, especially being a ‘blogger house’ – the fact that I hoard items is not of consequence at all! Really, what I need to be looking into is storage solutions and cupboards. It’s just a shame that I am ever so easily distracted, especially when faced with an awesome Helicopter Swing Lounger from FADS – an amazing online furniture store than I happened across on one of my many browsing brainwaves. There are so many lovely items that I could literally buy right now. It’s probably best I stay away at the moment as I do need to get cracking with the internal decor as opposed to furnishing my garden!
The next item on my agenda is to decorate the lounge… a task in itself! I already have the most stunning wallpaper to hang, although wallpapering is not in my repertoire so I shall leave that to my fab Mum and Dad who rock at it! If it goes wrong then I can totally blame them…!
