Finally, a Manchester based blogger conference with a difference…
Blog On was definitely the talk of social media on 21st July 2013 and I don’t know about anyone else but it certainly exceeded my expectations!
After helping set up on the Saturday evening and meeting other bloggers for a lovely meal at The Red Hot Buffet in Manchester, it would have been wise to have an early night for the long day ahead.
I woke at stupid o’clock to ensure my hair was perfect and to choose my outfit and found that little butterflies had set up home in my tummy. If that’s how I felt, I wouldn’t have liked to have known how Laura was feeling! My Dad had very kindly offered a lift in, so we set off to pick up Jenny and made our way to MOSI, the amazing venue for the day. It was a fantastic venue choice and great for the partners of bloggers who had made the journey too – always so much to see at MOSI and an old favourite in my eyes.
The fabulous Heather and I were on the door welcoming people to the event… I hope we managed to look wide awake that early on the Sunday morning!
When the majority of bloggers were in situ, we got to have a walk around – I managed to win some fabulous prizes on the tombola for Liv – I knew there was a reason to take a wheelie suitcase. I got a chance to speak with the lovely wine producer on the Laithwaites stand. She was absolutely lovely and kept me topped up with amazing Romanian wine.
The brands that attended Blog On were fabulous – Swizzels Matlow (you rock and thank you for all my Drumstick lollies!), SodaStream (Rachel’s cocktails were amazing and she was absolutely lovely to chat with!), Kalediscope (jealous of the bloggers who had their colours done), Hillarys blinds (the very cute Will anyone?), Vitamix, Legoland, Black Sheep Wool,
The sessions were a fantastic idea and after previously attending a large conference in London, I knew the smaller, more intimate sessions where we could all join in would suit everyone and make sure newer bloggers on the scene were also included.
The day flew by far too quickly for my liking – all I wanted to do was spend more time with my blogger mates – new mates including the very lovely Angie and Mel and bloggers I have not seen in ages such as the lovely Wendy.
I can only hope that Laura finally managed to put her feet up, before considering another event for next year! 🙂
It was an amazing day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself… see, Manchester does rock!!
