Review: Mindi’s Curry Pots – All The Convenience, All The Taste

by S1m

Last week was National Curry Week, possibly my favourite dedicated week, bar cupcake week. The day my daughter sat down and ate a full Chicken Tikka will stick with me forever, I was so proud! She definitely takes after her Mummy!

Our local takeaway Curry house is awesome and they literally give you enough food for the week for a ridiculously low price. The only thing is, with all the food in front of you, your eyes really do become bigger than your belly and you find yourself forcing forkfuls of rice into your mouth simply for the fact you do not want to waste food.

Imagine my delight when I was asked if we wanted to try some Mindi’s snack pot curries – perfect for people who love curry yet know when enough is enough as not to reach the bloating stage!

Made from all natural ingredients, with no artificial colours or flavours, the gluten free Mindi’s curry pots are available in Classic Chicken Tikka, Fiery Chicken Masala, Chicken Korma and Chana Masala which we tried; alongside Lentil Daal and Lamb Rogan Josh.

Cooking the curry couldn’t be easier, simply heat in a microwave for up to 4 minutes (dependent on wattage!) or empty the contents in a pan and cook for 7-9 minutes on the hob and add a little water if necessary,

Being one for convenience, I was quite happy to cook the curry pots in the microwave and savour the smells emanating before it was time to dig in. They were all absolutely delicious, more so than expected! The Fiery Chicken Masala was just that and was even fiery by my standards (I like spicy foods!), Liv quite happily ate the full serving of Chicken Tikka and Heather and I polished off the Chana Masala. I am quite nice like that… sharing my lunch with people! It really did surprise us though, especially as it was chickpea based – I am a meat lover and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, we were both disappointed to be staring at our empty bowls!

The balance of spices and fieriness is just right and with everything including your rice in one pot, Mindi’s curry pots really are a fantastic meal in one.

Mindi’s also offer sauces if you fancy preparing your own curry – Mind Blowing Masala (sounds awesome!), Tongue Tingling Tandoori and Korma Sauce.

There are no extra additives and no preservatives, meaning you will find the product range in the chilled sections, fresh and ready to go! If you are in the North West you can purchase Mindi’s products from your local Booths store – if not go and check out this handy ‘Where to Buy’ link on the site!

It was absolutely delicious, I was really surprised! Never had a chickpea based curry before… it certainly livened up the day and hit the spot at the right time!

Mmmm, I’ve just had toast for lunch, so they look very appetising!

The Chana Masala made the best lunch – normally I wouldn’t share and could quite happily eat a whole pot to myself but there was enough to split between two very hungry ladies! 🙂 x

MMM I LOVE curry so definitely giving these pots a go! I’ve recently been cooking my own from scratch and while they taste delicious it does take forever… this looks much more appealing x

They were certainly more delicious than expected – I think that comes down to the fact they are fresh meals. Definitely worth a try!x
