30 Day Detox: Day 2 In The Detox House

by S1m

The detox is going well… I am not missing alcohol… yet and I am certainly not missing the mind screwing that comes with dealing with men!

I have removed my profile entirely from POF, cleared all the apps from my phone and now feel weirdly cleansed, albeit, I do keep looking at my phone thinking what can I do with it? The Facebook app just does not seem to have the same appeal any more. Oh how I did enjoy scrolling through a catalogue of men and receiving random, cheesy messages from men old enough to be my Dad!

My mind is definitely being cleansed as is my body. I have never drunk as much water, I feel I could actually float around! Though it can only be a good thing for my body and my skin… I am hoping I will be glowing come July… just in time for the sun shining!

I was quite well behaved with food yesterday, I started the day with a healthy yoghurt, munched on a fully loaded ham salad wrap for my lunch, complete with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion… with a little slosh of Salad Cream too (it has to be done!). For dinner, I thought I would try something different, that both Liv and I could enjoy. A salad (lettuce, chopped tomatoes, cucumber, grapes) with chopped mini Frikadellan meatballs and topped with crispy bacon.

It was absolutely sublime and Liv ate all hers too, so we were both content and I managed to stay away from carbs. Considering my love for toast, it has been hard but I am persevering.

Exercise has been easy, as once I get into it I do enjoy it and happily cycled away on my bike whilst catching up with ‘Devious Maids’ (got to love a little cheese in your life!) – I even started the 30 Day Abs challenge that is floating around on Facebook. So hopefully I will also have abs of steel at the end of this rather bizarre mind, body and soul detox… bring on today!

I must be planking wrong as that’s not the painful bit for me – I did leave it until last though and I was already in agony.

Planking is easy, glad it’s the last one, the leg raises are horrible though and it’s only going to get worse πŸ™ Best go and check what I need to do today!

Good luck with the challenge and glad it’s going well. Not sure I could give up an evening glass of wine, but maybe I should…

Thanks lovely!! Ahhh this is one of my many crazy salads that I make… they always seem to have grapes in them, but they rock in salads. Had a super healthy(ish) spinach, mozzarella and tomato puff pastry tart thing for dinner… well it was healthy until I used puff pastry πŸ˜‰

Ooh go you, I am not brave enough/far too greedy to try a detox, but I could really do with one!

I have so much clarity now and men aren’t the main focus of conversations anymore… I actually talk about other things!! πŸ˜‰

There are no withdrawl symptoms yet, I am happy!! Though I do have a crate of beer and two bottle of wine winking at me… I will not give in though… one needs to shift one’s rear end πŸ™ x

If a detox looks like that delish plate of salad, I think I might convert!

It was absolutely delicious – love salads, just need to eat more of them instead of reaching for the curry menu!! πŸ˜‰ x

Go you! I’ve become a complete exercise junkie recently – shame that my diet isn’t reflecting that though. Too much of a chocoholic to give it up easily!

Oh my goodness, you’re doing so well! Starting is the hardest part – especially when it comes to exercise. Now that you’ve begun hopefully you’ll get that little adrenaline kick every time you do a workout and it’ll be easy to keep going. The social media detox sounds good too. I’m a shocker for spending all day scrolling on my phone, so I have to go cold turkey every few months, but if you can manage it in moderation you’re a stronger woman than I am! Good luck πŸ™‚ xx

Thanks lovely!! Ah I haven’t hidden from social media just yet… just men and all the dating apps I had on my phone. Weirdly enough my phone is running faster now!! It’s all going well and the scales are going down in the right direction on a daily basis, so something is working… bring on the rest of the month! πŸ™‚ x

I love bread… I love toast… I could quite happily eat 4 slices, all buttered up… this is my problem πŸ™
