Well… I managed it in a roundabout way. The 30 day detox was harsh but I managed to keep away from ‘bad’ food most of the time and managed to work off 5lbs – not the greatest but it was a start before I move onto the Almased diet for 2 weeks. Going on the shake only journey for 2 weeks will be hard, I know from previous experience but one needs a kick start to reach my goal weight for Christmas – with my drinking partner in crime away for a week, it should be a little easier than expected!
The ‘no men’ rule lasted until almost the end of the month, I did meet one gentleman for a drink. A nice guy however the distance of an hour and a half between us was a deal breaker. However the time away from illiterate morons looking for a quick jump allowed me thinking time to decide on what I actually want to find. Low behold, I am now going on a second date tomorrow… with a guy who lives around the corner from me. Clearly the detox work and it’s not just me who thinks I am awesome! 😉
So… what are my plans now?
With a busy 5 weeks ahead, I am going to try and get back into my ‘ridiculously health mentality’ that I had last year when I started the Weight Watchers diet. It was such a motivation to see the weight dropping off and in a sadistic way, I am quite looking forward to going back on a shake only diet, simply for the fact the scales will be kinder to me on a daily basis.
It will be interesting to see the results after two weeks and to see just how tasty the shakes are! I had better go and prepare myself for starting on Sunday… by finding my processor to mix up the shakes… Pints of beer are going to be replaced entirely by pints of water, wish me luck!
