Couch to 5K – My Progress So Far!

I am sitting here staring at several packets of tablets and special gel.

The start of the Couch to 5K hasn’t really got off to the best of starts unfortunately!

All the aforementioned products are all connected to my sprained knee… my poor knee which got m through Day 1 and 2 of the running programme, but decided to give up on me on Day 3. As stubborn as I am I kept limp jogging through the pain, which I can only imagine made it worse.

Weirdly just as I was beginning to get into my stride (excuse the pun!) and actually enjoy running!

For the past week and a half, I have been hobbling around like a grumpy, old moo, not even able to walk, let along go to the gym or jump on my bike.

The first week was amazing and I hit the gym for 3 running sessions plus a swim… seeing the scales fall several pounds was awesome and kept spurring me on. I could not believe I was enjoying running so much and actually quite miss it now.

I jumped on the bike on Sunday for the first time in over and week and so far, my knee seems to be holding up and is much less achey than it was. Part of that maybe down to the tablets, though I am hoping I will be back running in the gym again by Friday at the latest. Seeing the scales creep up again has taken its toll and I need to give myself something to look forward to. This fitness lark can seriously suck when you are injured!


Ho Medics have been super lovely and are sending me a Hand Held Shiatsu Massager to help improve my knee. Another excuse to sit on the couch, working on my NetFlix addiction!

Who would have thought I would enjoy running so much though? Makes me wonder why I never gave it a shot before! My feet have been fine, if anything I would have assumed my problems would stem from my plates of meat, but no, my poorly knee. It seems the Adidas Energy Boost 2 can protect my feet, just not my knee.

I shall be easing my way back in by completing the first week for a couple of sessions and then continue increasing my running time – hopefully soon, Heather will be able to be my running buddy… with no my injuries between us!

Thanks lovely, I intend to! I am actually itching to get back running and am annoyed it has taken this long. It was the scales spurring me on! Hope you are all well! We need a catch up!xx

We will be tomorrow – we are both going to try and have a run at the gym. We have both been suffering me, with my knee and H with her foot. Fingers crossed we survive tomorrow!
Heather is my drinking partner in crime! 🙂
