Christmas: What Does Your Child Want For Christmas?

by S1m

Still not stocked up on children’s presents yet? There are so many toys on the market, but here are a few of our favourites…

Liv is a huge fan of Lalaloopsy and has several of the dolls but currently loves her Lalaloopy Tinies more than anything! The Lalaloopsy Sew Royal Castle is super cute and bright and the perfect little ‘home’ for the Tinies as it works as a carry case too. The Castle includes Pony and 2 Exclusive Characters: Prince Handsome and Cinder Slippers Castle comes complete with baclonies and dance floor plus accessories. Currently priced at £16.99 on Amazon. It is great for role play and there are many packs of Tinies to collect. There are packs of 3 Tinies (£5.24) and also packs of 10 (£9.99) which include a secret character. Check out the range on the Lalaloopsy site! The Tinies make great stocking fillers!

The My Magical Mermaid set is an awesome gift to give this Christmas, something completely different. The Playset  features a pretty mermaid who swims in multiple directions while the colour changing LED light illuminates her enchanting environment. By dropping the mermaid into water (in the special case) she will spiral and dance. Liv has been absolutely transfixed by this  (currently £14.99 at Toys R Us), it is great for bedtimes in order to chill out before falling asleep. A super, cute gift for any water babies!

I am pretty sure that LEGO is a firm favourite in most households and a great gift to give at Christmas. I personally love the LEGO Friends sets, mainly as my favourite colour is purple and there are a lot more purple bricks than in the general sets. The Friends sets tend to also have names associated with the main Lego character – in this instance our latest Friends set is named Olivia… it could not be more perfect! The Jungle Falls Set (41033) is aimed at 6-12 years olds with easy to follow instructions and is just one of many sets you can purchase in the range. Currently £15.04 on Amazon.

Christmas adverts have been on screen for a while now and Twizzles certainly stood out to Liv, as they are mentioned on her Christmas list. Fun, vibrantly coloured with crazy hair, Twizzles are twirling puppies who love cupcakes!  By pushing their heads down and pushing their tail, Twizzles will spin around to follow the delicious cupcake. Complete with colourful hairpieces to decorate and comb, the hairpieces can be swapped over with other Twizzle figures to create a new style. A perfect stocking filler for Christmas, with so many available to collect too – aimed at children over 3 years. RRP £9.99, currently £2.99 in Smyths!

These are just a few of the toys we have had the pleasure of playing with the past few weeks… Jenny over at The Brick Castle has also been testing Christmas toys for children aged 3-6 years and also Christmas toys for children aged 6-9 years. Admittedly, having seen the Hexbugs in operation myself, I can see why they are so popular… they are awesome and much faster than  you would expect!

Thank you for popping by Julia! There are some great toys for girls on the market now – I am so insanely jealous of what my daughter has… but cannot complain too much as I get to play with the toys too! 🙂 x
