I have always been lucky with Liv – she absolutely loves fruit and vegetables and tends to choose a bowl of strawberries over a biscuit, which for a mum is perfect!
Snacks are something I do think about, it is nice to have a treat every now and then however, being able to have a healthy treat is even better and more reassuring.
Let’s welcome Fruit Heroes to the centre stage…!
The latest healthy snack to the UK market, the bars are produced in Denmark, where they are now the number 1 lunchbox item. Which is not surprising really…
Classed as one of your 5 a day, Fruit Heroes are made only from natural ingredients and contain absolutely no artificial baddies, colourings and no added salt at all. They are high in fibre, gluten and dairy free and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans – they are even suitable for coeliacs!
Each bar is made from freshly picked and sun dried fruit, that is carefully mixed and simply pressed into shape. Made mainly from fruit, the bars contain minimal amounts of sunflower oil and water. There is a distinct taste, we tried the Apple and Raspberry bars… they were different.
Jenny over at The Brick Castle and her family tried the bars and there certainly was mixed opinion over a scattering of ages.
Fruit Heroes offer 4 different flavours to choose from: Apple and Raspberry, Banana, Strawberry and Blackcurrant, in individually wrapped 20g bars… there are 5 fruit bars in a box.
Fruit Heroes bars are available from Tesco (normally £1.99 for a 5 bar box), Holland & Barrett, One Stop, selected health food stores and Amazon.
From 4th March Tesco stores nationwide will be offering £1 off the delicious, tasty, fruit bar snack that launched in the UK earlier this year. Available in boxes of five, shoppers can now pick up their favourite natural fruit bar at just 99p until 29th March.
Thank you very much to Jenny at The Brick Castle for kindly allowing me to use her super awesome and bright images for use in this post! I don’t know how she does it, but her images rock!
