Weight Loss Wednesday – Week 11 #WeightLossWednesday

by S1m
Weight Loss Wednesday Linky

After a crazy, busy morning, I am finally finding myself writing up my Weight Loss Wednesday post – what a 7 days it has been… I don’t even know where to start! Check out Weight Loss Wednesday Week 10 or fast forward to Weight Loss Wednesday Week 12 for a progress update!

My run training has stepped up a gear… read that as I have now moved up to Week 4 of the Couch to 5k and I am still running far too quickly. The stubborn me, who wanted to prove a point to someone even upped my speed to 10kph… just because I had to. I think the word donut springs to mind! Now I am attempting to work on sustainability and running/jogging slower in order to move a greater distance. My problem is that I get bored too easily, so I am rather looking forward to finally running outside in order to have a change of scenery… literally!

I managed to pick up some bargain running gear yesterday too which I am impressed with – you can check it out in my latest running post.

This last week has consisted of shakes and eating… I’ve had good days and bad days, totally depending on circumstances… but still, I have managed to lose 2lbs..! So in total a 1 stone and 3lbs loss since the start of the year – this I can cope with! I am still in the next stone category down according to my scales and with literally 2 stone and 11 lbs to go, the end is somewhat closer than it was.

Running is certainly changing my body shape as well as contributing to my weight loss which is fantastic… about time the hips and butt were shaken up!

I hope you have all had a good week too… we have to keep the momentum going now – Week 11, this is epic!

There are no real rules with #WeightLossWednesday – any type of fitness/ running/ weight loss/ healthy eating related posts or recipes go – but it would be appreciated if you could comment on at least TWO other entries into the link up – keep support going… it’s a hard journey and sometimes some of us just need words of wisdom from others going through it! Don’t forget to tweet and let us know you have linked up @SimsLifeBlog!

A piece of advice here, while losing weight don’t forget not to skip meal and drink plenty of water. Your doing great and keep it up my friend!

Thank you so much! I am known for skipping meals, I am terrible and doubt I will ever change but definitely drinking plenty of water – it’s made such a difference to my skin!

You’re doing brilliantly – I really do need to get off my bum and start running too. I pondered it in New Year then put it off to the spring but, umm, that’s now ! lol Love your running gear – great prices too

You can do it chick, I know you can! You were there back in 2013 when I started on my weight loss journey – we have come so far! The running gear is awesome… got to love Primark! 🙂 x

I completed the couch to 5k a couple of years back but then totally let my fitness slip. I’ve been on SW since last year and my weight loss has stalled a bit recently so maybe getting back into running is the way forward. Especially now it’s warming up a bit outside.

Reply
S1m March 20, 2015 - 10:23 am

I cannot believe the change to my body just from running – all that time I have spent in the gym previously and my butt has not changed. If only I had known sooner! Hope SW is going well!

Awww thank you – I didn’t mean to make you feel guilty at all! If it helps, I did have a glass of wine and some Minstrels the other night… only two but still… it’s chocolate! 🙂

Wow – you’re doing brilliantly! Getting my running speed right took me ages, and I’m still not sure I’ve totally mastered it, but for ages I was running too fast to manage decent distances.

Reply
S1m March 20, 2015 - 10:20 am

That’s my problem, but slowing down feels so alien and my legs have no idea what is happening – am sure once I have sorted it then the distances will come. Hope you are getting on well!

Good going batwoman! I can’t run anymore for medical reasons and it really upsets me because not only did it help keep weight off but it made me feel great!

Reply
S1m March 20, 2015 - 10:18 am

Oh no hun, I remember you were on the Couch25k when I started! Definitely agree it makes you feel great, I come out of the gym pumped up for the day so running in the morning is definitely the right time for me.

Good job ! Keep up the great work and in no time, you’d reach your goals.

Thanks Elizabeth! 🙂 Each 1lb loss is a 1lb closer to my goal… the end is definitely in sight somewhere 🙂

Reply
Vanessa Ally March 19, 2015 - 8:28 am

I really admire your consistency, being able to follow your goal for weeks. I personally lack that willingness, I mean after a week or two I normally give up but you have a plan that you stick to. Thumbs up, keep getting closer to your aim!

Reply
S1m March 20, 2015 - 10:16 am

Determination is the key… plus I want to be able to feel comfortable in summer clothes so that is keeping me going! Thanks Vanessa!x

Reply
S1m March 20, 2015 - 10:16 am

Thanks Tiffany! Absolutely it is so easy to put the weight on but a huge uphill climb to work it off, but it seems to be working and the scales are falling in the right direction!

Ah this makes me guilty! LOL. I haven’t done a workout this week. Haven’t run/jog/walk even. Was too caught up with a lot of activities. Tsk Tsk Tsk. My tummy’s bulging even more. tsk tsk tsk. This is a reminder! A motivation even.

A stone is 14lbs in total – easy to put on, not so easy to shake off! 🙂
I am really chuffed with with the running gear, the capri’s fit like a glove!

Try counting when you run, it keeps your mind occupied. another way is do run walk sets as it breaks down the run into more meaningful segments.

Reply
S1m March 20, 2015 - 10:03 am

Very good advice… from the man!!!!! I always do wonder what happens when it comes to you finally sitting down! I shall try counting and see how I get on. I am doing the run walk sets now but was hoping to just be able to run. Will see how I get on and report back!

GO YOU! You are doing so well. The danceathon seems to have made a bit of a difference for me and I have so far managed two workouts this week. Aiming for four and think I might just squeeze one more on. Not quite on target but better than nothing. I WISH I like running but I just hate it. It feels like time slows down when I run!

Reply
S1m March 22, 2015 - 6:45 pm

I know what you mean about time slowing down – hopefully they will show some of today’s Chelsea match at the gym tomorrow so that will keep me going! Seriously if they played a montage of Jose I would run all day! 😉
I expect you were absolutely knackered after the danceathon but it would have made such a difference! Hope you are getting on well with your workouts! 🙂 x

Love, love, love the new running gear and the matching water bottle! You go, girl! So very proud of you. Do you do a side by side progress pictures? 😀 I found that to be motivating although I dread the first pictures but it boost up your confidence to see how far you’ve come and from the look of it, you are doing amazing! Very proud of you!

My start of the journey pictures were of me in my underwear – there are certain things the world does not need to see – so will put some clothed pics up soon… when I find someone unsuspecting to take pics of me! 😉 The running gear is fab, need to get out and about and show the pants off now! 🙂 x
