After making the decision to ‘simply run’ last week, I have carried on with this training as opposed to following the C25KI app. It seems to be working as on Friday I ran for longer and on Monday I decided to even run at an incline.
I seemed to have found a comfortable speed of 8.2kph, which for the last minute I feel I can run, will be upped to extend the legs even more.
Who knew I would enjoy it so much!
Though after reading Urban Mumble’s post on the linky last week about stomach muscles, I have changed my ‘after running weight routine’ (yes, that really IS what I have called it!). No longer am I doing stomach crunches, however I have added in the Lat pull-down. My arms are rocking at the moment but I really now need to target my core and get rid of the ‘mum tum/ beer buldge/ wine wedge’ – it’s a combination of all three! So will be trying more targeted exercises alongside running this week.
Food wise, I honestly have been all over the shop and even added in a bottle of wine… totally justified I assure you! Though still, throughout everything, I have managed to lose 1lb this week – yey! Total loss being 1 stone and 4lbs so far. It seems to be taking ages, though I am noticing a big difference in how my clothes are fitting me these days… I really do need some new clothes… and people are being vocal about the weight loss… so something must be working.
I have needed a little help this last week though in the form of CLIF bar Shot Blocks… in Blackberry, they are stunning! Like a huge chewy Blackcurrant sweet, they are divine and I cannot wait to try one of the gels in their range to see how much further I can run!
My knee, as expected as been twinging ever so slightly though with the use of my sports bandage and lots of FLEXISEQ sport joint gel, it is getting me through running. I do not want to get to the point of spraining the same knee again so am taking every precaution I can to react as quickly this time… as opposed to just running through the pain – I really do not want to be set back again, especially when everything is going so well at the moment.
