Weight Loss Wednesday Linky

Welcome to Weight Loss Wednesday Week 18… here we go again, hey? Check out Weight Loss Wednesday Week 17 or fast forward to Weight Loss Wednesday Week 19 for a progress update!

In all, it has been a fairly positive week with regards to exercise, eating, weight loss and having a positive outlook on everything.

I managed a 3k run yesterday which I was pleased about, considering my kidney is still playing up. Dedication to the cause and all that! I know I need to pull 5k out of the bag at some point in the next 2 months, but I also need to get my butt outside (damn weather!) so that I can put the Suunto Ambit 3 to the test! I am beginning to think that my trainers are hampering me slightly, so have treated myself to some awesome Mizuno Hitogami running trainers in a half size up. I am hoping my toes will be comfier and therefore enable me to carry on running – anyone else suffer with numb toes?

So training preparations are going well and I am gearing myself up, Brioche Pasquier which are a huge hit in our house are going to be sponsoring me for Race For Life and sending some fuel for me – though as Liv is a chocolate bread monster, I am guessing unless I hide the brioche, it will all get eaten… not by me! 😉 There finally seems to be some movement with Scottish Power too, considering it is due to them that I signed up for the race…

Saturday was a real ‘I don’t care what goes in my mouth today…’ (well clearly there were some exceptions!) as I attended the annual BlogOnMOSI conference and wanted to enjoy the day as much as possible… it was a childfree day opportunity not to be missed! In actual fact… I was really good at the event, I had the equivalent of half a sandwich, 1 small glass of Prosecco, 4 black coffees, 2 Swizzle Matlow  lollies and a cupcake. It really could have been so much worse with all the calorific cake on offer! Everything was going so well until I got home and with a Hungry House voucher in hand, proceeded to buy a big, fat Texas BBQ pizza! Nom Nom! The takeaway guy even commented on how much weight I have lost… oh the irony as he handed me my pizza! 😉

Even attending an impromptu social event and having a takeaway, I’ve still managed to lose the 1lb that I gained last week. So, I am still currently stuck at a 1 and half stone loss so far…

So how are you this week? Any major losses to report?

S1m May 6, 2015 at 12:54 pm

Thank you chick! For sure – I really do need to get my gait checked, however I saw the Mizuno trainers for a reasonable price, in the size I was after and thought sod it, worth a try! Fingers crossed they help – they are very funky!x

we3threeblog May 6, 2015 at 12:31 pm

the thought of running brings me out in a cold sweat so good on you for doing it! excellent news about the pound loss too, it all adds up.

S1m May 6, 2015 at 12:53 pm

Awww thank you! Trust me, it is not as bad as you would expect! I am quite enjoying it to be honest, more of a hobby as opposed to a chore! 🙂 x

Sarah Howe (@RunJumpScrap) May 6, 2015 at 1:41 pm

Pretty good week all round. Weight loss, child-free day, yummy food and some exercise! Here’s to it continuing. Hope your kidney is ok!! x

S1m May 6, 2015 at 1:50 pm

Thanks chick – it was an awesome week, totally didn’t get my BlogOnMOSI ticket till the last minute but thoroughly enjoyed the day! Pretty sure my tablets are strong enough to bring down a horse so fingers crossed they do the job! 🙂 xx

Fernando Lachica May 6, 2015 at 2:23 pm

You enjoyed your run more than any fitness you’ve experienced. Very lovely week for you…nice program for you.

Danessa Foo May 6, 2015 at 3:21 pm

I really admire your perseverance and dedication to the program. Well done on losing even though you attended the impromptu event ‘)

Pooja KaWatra May 6, 2015 at 3:36 pm

You are doing pretty good dear with so much of efforts , I can understand the feeling when you have shedding the weight with harfwork and someone hand over the pizZa with lot of calories. Once in a while enjoy it !!

Mia Foo May 6, 2015 at 3:42 pm

wow, congrats on the sponsorship! wow, targetting 5k soon huh! my limit was 3.2k and it took me about half an hour to finish the run. my stamina sucks, i know. but i really dislike running too much to want to work on my running stamina…. 🙁
press on!

Mammasaurus May 6, 2015 at 4:45 pm

Nice one on the Brioche folks sponsorship – they sponsored me to do the Race for Life a couple of years ago and fed me yummy brioche after too -well, your body metabolism must be racing after 5k 😉

Sonya Cisco May 6, 2015 at 5:08 pm

Well done you! I have fallen so far off the diet wagon that I cant even remember where I parked it now….

Tiffany Yong May 6, 2015 at 5:49 pm

Do you know that you might reach a plateau where you can’t progress any further? That’s the body telling us to pause a while before going for more!

Nikki Thomas May 6, 2015 at 6:00 pm

Wow I love those trainers. I am still trying to decide whether to do the race for life but good luck with it I’m sure it wil be fun

Trish May 6, 2015 at 6:24 pm

Blimey, I come over here to read about running and keeping fit but leave drooling over Brioche Pasquier, Swizzle lollies and BBQ pizzas!

Cheryl @ Madhouse Family Reviews May 6, 2015 at 6:36 pm

Fantastic sponsors – you’ll be entitled to eat as much Brioche Pasquier as you like after the race ! Love the new running shoes too – great for the motivation, but you sound like you’ve got bucketloads to spare anyway. The pizza guy deserves a kiss for such a lovely comment too ! xx

Cass@FrugalFamily May 6, 2015 at 9:53 pm

Ooh they’re sponsoring us to do the race for life too – we’re going to be walking rather than running though I think x x

lee rosales May 7, 2015 at 2:03 am

Great job! 3k is still something. 🙂 i can only do 1-1.5km running even on threadmill, lol

Kylie May 7, 2015 at 4:29 am

Well done!~ fantastic sponsors to make your keeping fit mission successful!

Anne V May 7, 2015 at 5:03 am

Congratulations on making a 3k run! Routing for you! You’ll be able to pull off a 5k fore sure!

phyliciamarie May 7, 2015 at 9:42 am

Just keep pushing, and increase your goals! 3k now, 5 k tomorrow, and eventually 10k! Good luck!

Elizabeth O. May 7, 2015 at 10:20 am

Good job on the 3k run. I’m sure you’ll be able to pull the 5k run soon.

Emma May 7, 2015 at 10:42 am

Well done! I would find it a struggle running 500 metres at the moment! I used to do a college course with Jerry Hall of all people, and her mantra was to be super strict during the week, and then eat what the hell she liked at weekends! 😀

Sin Yee May 7, 2015 at 11:09 am

Read your post before going to gym is so motivating~ Haha.

Franc Ramon May 7, 2015 at 11:31 am

It’s nice that you still get to squeeze in the runs. When it comes to shoes, sometimes you get to know it better in time but it also helps to have your running gait checked for better shoe matching.

Ruth May 7, 2015 at 11:38 am

Ooh well done you! I bloody love those new trainers you’ve got. I’m due a new pair soon too, will have to check if I can get them over here. Glad you had fun at the blogging conference. 1 glass of Prosecco is very restrained!

Keep going, you’re doing a fabby job x

yuhjiun May 7, 2015 at 2:06 pm

omg your blog is so inspiring! I shall hit the gym soon 😛

Loudthinkin May 7, 2015 at 3:24 pm

While I was on my massive weight loss programme (in which I was successful) I remember days on which I used to completely binge and it was fine! So,I think that’s the mantra..if you are work out religiously 6 days a week, it’s k to binge on one day.

Nicol Wong (@yuk_lui) May 7, 2015 at 6:16 pm

i need to start running more, 5k is a bit of a challenge but i will reach 5k eventually haha i can’t wait for my blisters to heal so i can exercise again

Emma (@emvanstone) May 7, 2015 at 8:44 pm

Well done on the running! I need your motivation!

May De Jesus-Palacpac May 8, 2015 at 12:06 am

Sunshine Kelly May 8, 2015 at 4:23 am

Well done! I hope to follow you too. I am going to schedule my workout classes and list down what i eat. At least I can track my exercise routine and my diet.

Papaleng Pagulong May 8, 2015 at 6:34 am

Jason Panuelos May 8, 2015 at 9:16 am

Mummy Melton May 8, 2015 at 9:51 am

Good running shoes are so important, glad you’ve found a pair that suit you. A great brand too! How did I not see you at BlogonMOSI?? The food was good, I managed to stay away from the cake although it did look good! xx

3xhcch May 8, 2015 at 1:32 pm

Congratulations on the 3K! I am sure that 5K is within your reach of accomplishment. Congrats too on the new running shoes which will help you achieve your goal.

Raymond Vasquez May 10, 2015 at 2:58 am

I admire how you have monitored and really persevere on staying fit! Now this will again have to remind me that I also have to stay fit. I have been to several adventure trips recently and somehow made some workout, but it isn’t enough. I have to measure my progress too. 😀

Cebuana Mom May 11, 2015 at 12:50 am

Staying fit involves a lot of discipline, dedication, and commitment, Love the shoes though 🙂

S1m May 12, 2015 at 1:12 pm

Mrs. AOK May 13, 2015 at 5:47 pm

Oh this weekend I probably gained about a zillion pounds. My family kept feeding my good. I’m hitting the gym hard this week. I even made sure to get a quick workout in this morning. Summer is coming a lot faster than my progress.
Cheers to a little “mommy” time!

hannah mums' days May 15, 2015 at 4:49 pm

S1m May 18, 2015 at 12:52 pm

Thank you so much Hannah, all seems to be ok now. I gave myself last week off and both my side and my knee seem to be pain free after this morning’s trip to the gym. I will definitely keep pushing!
