Weight Loss Wednesday Linky

Welcome to the Weight Loss Wednesday linky – Week 20!

Thank you so much to those who have linked up so far, throughout the last 20 weeks – everyone’s journey is completely different, every diet, exercise plan and overall target, but the support has been the same no matter what. I appreciate all the lovely, motivating comments I have received and hope you feel that linking up is helping you on your journey too!

Right, soppy stuff out of the way *ahem*, let’s crack on with this week.

Last week, I gave myself the week off to ‘right’ myself, it gave my knee a much needed and deserved rest and also appears to have healed my kidney and back pain… awesome! Going back to the gym after a week off though was very challenging. as legs feel like they do not wish to move and you feel all out of sync. Monday was made easy by the fact I was running in my new trainers, choosing a half size larger seems to have paid off and numb toes are a thing of the past. I am still struggling to beat the 3k mark though – I’m hoping that a run out in the great outdoors will see to this later in the week, when I finally venture outside in the continued quest to train for Race For Life!

They finally arrived and are even more colourful than expected!

Eating, it had been ok… until my evening meal last night, when I totally gave in after what felt like an endless day and ordered a takeaway. Having been good, I’m angry with myself for relenting but nothing was going to motivate me to cook… I had reached the ultimate mental block and I literally CBA. I really do not want to step back into old habits again so really need to give myself a talking to. Lots of water and black coffee has been consumed this last week – with a little unexpected hiatus on Saturday – a few more bottles of wine were consumed than expected as a friend had recently finished her final year Uni exams… celebrating was definitely on the cards and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I feel that I have been trying to walk upwards on a downwards travelling escalator recently and albeit I have lost recently, I am annoyed I am not losing more and then go and screw it up… like having a takeaway the night before weigh in! I should point out that before the takeaway for dinner, I hadn’t actually eaten all day… I know! I know! I will never listen! Weight loss this week has not changed… yet – am sure the takeaway will have some effect but I am going to take that and eat better, healthier foods this week… and stay away from alcohol!

If only Morgan Freeman could voice a podcast for healthy eating, I would be there!

How are you getting on this week? How are you managing to keep on track?

I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on with running outdoors – I’m yet to make the change from the wii fit and I thnk it’ll be a lot harder than running on the spot ! Don’t beat yourself up over one takeaway – you’re making permanent lifestyle changes and the odd takeaway,wine-fuelled eveningor bar of chocolate is all part of that ! xx

S1m May 20, 2015 - 11:19 am

As am I! Currently looking at the rain outside, even the dog doesn’t want to go out! Brightening up tomorrow though so no excuses! It’s one of those things, but I had not had any alcohol in a while and to be honest I could quite easily have carried on, was lovely and chilled! Getting out and about will definitely be different but I am hoping easier in some respects as there will be so much to see that boredom will not come into play. xx

Hey Sim,

I didn’t know you were training for a 5 k. Good on you but make sure you enjoy it and don’t push too hard.

My tip for getting out and about is to just go where you would train an walk most of it so you’re not going to trip and you can let your body (particularly your legs and ankles) get used to the terrain, then just do some light jogging for a short while next time and build from there.

That always works for me if I’m worried about getting injured. Many of my posts are this type of workout while out walking with my family which makes it a lot easier to fit in.

Keep it up

Sometime the good blow out on too much is wine is good, just not all the time. Im sure it wont hinder you, same as the takeaway.
Good luck with getting past the 3k mark. #weightlosswednesday

Maybe let’s send to Morgan Freeman to do a podcast? That would be hilarious, Morgan Freeman multi-awarded actor, talking about dieting. 🙂

Fernando Lachica May 20, 2015 - 11:24 pm

You are very determined for your fitness program and it’s great. Eat healthy foods while doing the weight loss.

papaleng May 21, 2015 - 6:53 am

Nice running shoes you have there. Good that you are keeping pace with your health and fitness regimen. Are you planning to join a 5K run, then go for it.

Raymond Vasquez May 21, 2015 - 10:46 am

If you still keep in track, although, you take a rest means your eyes are still on the goal. Focus on it. Doesn’t matter if you walk up and down, as long as you keep in mind what your real goal is. 🙂

Alice Megan May 21, 2015 - 12:40 pm

Love your running shoes!
One takeaway won’t knock you lovely just write it off and move on 🙂

Louise May 21, 2015 - 1:25 pm

Hey! Don’t be hard on yourself! It’s okay to be a little too lazy with the workouts or whatever routine or even by eating something you really like but shouldn’t just because tomorrow, you have to weigh yourself. I know this is a weight loss program you’re doing but I think, as long as you know your limits and that you know how to get back on track, it’s fine. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re doing great anyway!

Anne V May 21, 2015 - 1:30 pm

It’s great to know that you are really pushing through with your weight loss goals and not just giving up like some people. What an inspiration for people who want to loose weight. Can’t wait to see you running outdoors with your new shoes. 🙂

3xhcch May 21, 2015 - 1:34 pm

Nice tip that trainers should be a half-size bigger. If it is just right, the feet can get numb and squished when it expands with the movement.

Franc Ramon May 21, 2015 - 2:25 pm

I’m sure you’ll get the hang of running. It helps to have a new shoes to keep you motivated.

Elizabeth O. May 21, 2015 - 3:57 pm

Love the running shoes! That will help motivate you get pass the 3k mark.

Tiffany Yong May 21, 2015 - 5:55 pm

Awww… Give yourself a break! If you gain during these period, try losing them in the next. The more you are obsessed with your numbers, the worse it will become!

Nicol Wong (@yuk_lui) May 21, 2015 - 11:03 pm

oh my, those are definitely bright! you’ll reach that 3k mark soon, just keep working hard as you always do!

Jason Panuelos May 22, 2015 - 2:42 am

Love your new kicks! I think that they’re a great motivator to work out more! 😀

Sin Yee May 22, 2015 - 4:34 am

I am still in the start of exercise. Still feel tired, but I think it will be better after one or two months. =D

Notmyyearoff May 22, 2015 - 10:42 am

I think if Morgan Freeman did a podcast I’d just end up relaxing a bit more. Good luck with the outdoor running, people who get into the swing say the love it! I’ve yet to reach that stage!

lee rosales May 22, 2015 - 12:49 pm

Why morgan freeman? Is he your fave actor? 🙂
If I have new and colorful running shoes I will have more energy to run even on treadmills only

Sunshine Kelly May 22, 2015 - 1:53 pm

Pooja Kawatra May 22, 2015 - 2:22 pm

Way to go dear .. So your determination is paying off and all the best ! I love the pink shoes and looks quite comfortable.

Danessa Foo May 22, 2015 - 4:47 pm

Love those shoes! So bright and motivating to slip in and just exercise in them 😉

Erin @Yorkshiretots May 22, 2015 - 8:16 pm

Sounds like you’re doing really well! Don’t be too hard on yourself for the takeaway! It’s the long game that counts. Have you tried the couch to 5k program? That’s how I got started. I found it too daunting just to keep running otherwise. Good luck!

Sounds like you’re doing great, and we all enjoy a takeaway every now and again. As long as it doesn’t become the norm then I don’t see a problem. I’ve done bad this week, and had a pizza on Saturday. The problem with that is I see the gain 2 days later, ie today! So yes, I’ve gained this week. But I’m on the case and intend to lose it again. 🙂

chantelle hazelden May 26, 2015 - 10:05 pm

First off loving those trainers!! Now re losing weight and diet, we are all allowed treats/junk food, don’t feel guilty for that, steady progress is the best route and I think overall you’ve got a great routine going so don’t be hard on yourself!! #bloggingtojogging

Mummy Melton May 27, 2015 - 3:08 pm

you’re doing great, don’t beat yourself up so much! We are allowed a treat and it’s about eating in moderation the bad stuff. It’s hard to get back into it when you haven’t run, even for a short period of time. You’re determined and you’re doing great xx

S1m June 1, 2015 - 11:59 am

Thank you so much chick! All seems to have gone well this morning at the gym so am hoping that a week’s break over half term will not have too much of an effect. Cracking on with it! Hope you are well! 🙂 xx

Mrs. AOK May 27, 2015 - 3:10 pm

I hope you’re all right. I’ve noticed when I run lately I get shin splints, no fun! I rather sprint, sprinting doesn’t do the same as jogging or running, weird.
Wishing you a good rest of the week!

S1m June 1, 2015 - 11:58 am

My knee has actually held out very well today considering I haven’t run in a week, apart from a mini jog on a dog walk mid week… all is looking ok for the moment! 🙂 xx

Hannah June 1, 2015 - 3:34 pm

Don’t beat yourself up lovely, you’re doing great and I love those running shoes! Thanks for linking with #BloggingToJogging xx

S1m June 3, 2015 - 12:06 pm

Thanks chick! Just seems like there should have been more movement by now – Day 3 on the diet though and all seems to be going well! Hope you are well! Thank you for letting me link up! 🙂 xx

AJ July 12, 2015 - 6:36 pm

Hang in there. Slowly moving forward is better than moving backwards. Stay motivated! You are worth it! =)
