Weight Loss Wednesday Linky – Week 21 #WeightLossWednesday

Weight Loss Wednesday Linky

Welcome to the Weight Loss Wednesday linky week 21!

Well as far as week’s go, this one is a definite right off! Half term unfortunately is not the best of times to expect any weight loss!

Having only used the bike, walked the dog and finally succumbed to finally utilising the Charlotte Crosby 3 Minute Belly Blitz DVD so far this week, my fitness is faltering this week and my body is craving for a gym visit. I am hoping someone will take pity and have Liv for a hour later this week so that I can nip to the gym and do my thing!

However for now, Liv and I are off out for a run this week. I have checked the weather and all seems ok for the rest of the week, I am kitted out with running gear and even Brantano have kindly sent Liv a pair of running trainers so that she too can get in on the action. She is quite excited, however I know that I will have moans of ‘my legs are tired’ after a minute! Roll on Monday!

Brantano

Any attempts at healthy eating have long been forgotten, despite a shopping trip on Friday to stock up on foods to keep us going this week. I do have a rather tasty quiche lined up for later today though, which I am looking forward to with a salad.

However, a lovely email from Barry at The New You Plan yesterday has brightened my week up slightly! I have been offered the opportunity to review the TFR (Total Food Replacement) plan for 2 weeks in a bid to shift some poundage in my weight loss quest before the Race For Life.

Having previously spent 16 weeks on a TFR diet in the past, I am fully aware of how mentally prepared you have to be to give up food and get my body into ketosis as soon as possible. After 16 weeks I had oddly forgotten how to chew, though doubt that will be a problem this time. I am sure after the 2 weeks I will be insanely close to my target and it will have given me the boost that I need to carry on. It would be nice to fall down a dress size, but hey, I will be happy if The New You plan can make headway with my ridiculously stubborn hips!

I am going to be trying a mixture of shakes, soups and noodles – with the odd chocolate bar thrown in too – all part of the plan. The fact I can have Chicken Noodle Curry will blow my mind! Albeit there are many different meal and shake options in the range, I am going to stick to the basics, simply because I know that it works if you stick at it and I am a creature of habit!

Maybe this is what I need… my meal choices being taken out of my hands and the choice being made for me, in a roundabout way! Wish me luck and expect lots of pictures of the shakes and meals I am eating!

How are you getting on this week? Have you ever tried a TFR diet? Did you achieve the results you hoped for?

It’s all mind over matter – as with any diet. The shakes contain all the nutrients you need, infact, even more so than a normal day’s food intake you may normally have. It’s just about tricking your brain about drinking a meal as opposed to chewing a meal – thanks chick!

I have tried the Cambridge diet before, it was great for a while, but the no touching any food, not even a mouthful was extremely hard, especially in the summer for bbq’s and picnics etc. I didn’t last long on it. 🙁 Good luck, #weightlosswednesdays

It takes discipline to accomplish anything. I know you can handle all these trials that seems to hinder your fitness regimen.

That TFR sounds so intense. I do not think I can survive on that. You obey what your body tells you, of course. Do not ignore if the body complains.

It is intense but it will work. The meals and shakes you have do contain all the necessary nutrients your body needs on a daily basis. Fingers crossed!

I have not tried the TFR diet. Avoiding carbs and sugar worked for me. I really do not have a special diet of sorts. I have managed to workout regularly for now but I am still far from my ideal fit form. Good luck on your weight loss plans.

Healthy food and exercise program can do wonders to fitness. But determination and motivation plays an important role in the successful healthy body.

Absolutely! Having previous experience of TFR I know what pitfalls to look out for and will keep on at it. Starting off determined so hope it continues!

It’s not really how much you eat, but what you eat. I don’t think I can survive with just milkshakes haha, not even for a day. Hope the diet works for you though.

I too struggles with food options. I tried a diet plan before but didn’t work. All the best to your new you plan. Hopefully it would help you achieve your goal. 😀

You know, I didn’t really pay attention to my fitness pal until recently. What’s good about it is that you don’t have to give up food, but you get to measure it according to your weight goal plan which will be calculated for you according to your stats. Try it. 😉

I have not been using MFP for a while now and I should have got back into it. I am going to give the New You plan a go and see how I get on with it fingers crossed!

All the luck with your TFR. I can’t imagine myself doing such thing. It does really take a lot of determination and discipline to lose weight! Will be looking forward your shakes & meals. 🙂

If you stick to it it does really work and is a great motivator, especially when the weight drops off. I will be teaming it with my usual exercise plan so am hoping for good results quickly!

I’ve never tries any form of extreme diets for my weight… unless you count semi-juicing a form of diet which I tried with my colleagues!

Reply
S1m June 1, 2015 - 11:29 am

People rave about juicing, personally I could not be bothered making it all up. Extreme diets are tough but with hard work they do pay off!

i’ve never been on diet before, but have tried shakes (protein milkshake iirc) once for a bloggers’ event. it filled me up just for a while….and i had to continue with a big breakfast less than an hour later lol. drinks are just not as satisfying as having a meal. i guess my brain requires abit more effort to ‘trick’ it if i were to go on diet one day..

good luck with your efforts and hope your plan works for you!

That’s the think, you need to trick your mind into thinking you have just had a meal. The first few days are horrific with feeling cold, shaking and headaches but that is simply your body going into the state of ketosis. After Day 3 things smooth out and before I have found that I have more energy… bring it on!

Seriously I haven’t tried any food diet program but if you are that disciplined and working on your weight loss and diet with so much determination. it is all worth working on it.

Absolutely! I know I can achieve the results if I stick to the diet and persevere so looking forward to my box arriving today and will crack on!

After cutting back and walking/running three times a week, for more than six months, I’m proud to say that I lost 18 pounds. I need to lose more and it’s still a lot of work, but I know I am getting there a little at a time.

I’ve never heard of the TFR diet. Good luck and I hope you will share with us your progress.

Thank you Elizabeth! Any TFR diet is hard going but with previous experience and sheer determination after a good start to the year, I am hoping to make good headway. Fantastic news on your weight loss!x

I have never tried to diet though there are times I would reduce my meals. I’m just lucky that I get a lot of exercise through running so I always stay within a reasonable range.

Franc you are forever on the go, I am surprised you have the time to sit down! I am hoping it is going to give me a good kick start and get me very close, if not to my actual target! 🙂

Jason!! You do not need to go on a diet at all, you look fab!! I have been on a similar diet before and it really does work, you just need to be careful when you come off the diet and slowly ease yourself back into eating. Will keep you posted!

It’s tough to eat healthy when the kids (and husband) are off school! I have made it out twice this week running but my eating .. not so great. A trip to the seaside didn’t help. I will be interested to read your review of the diet plan!

Thank you so much Erin, starting today so looking forward to meal choices being taken out of my hands! Half term is never great for weight loss or diets but the mini me is back at school now and I am getting back on track! 🙂

the way i was told about weight loss is enjoy the food you eat in a moderate way and do not deprived yourself as it will result to more craving and psychological damage…

S1m June 1, 2015 - 10:51 am

Absolutely – it is all about portion control and knowing your limits! I am finding my body can’t handle the portions I used to like eating, which can only be a good thing! 🙂

This is the first time I’ve heard of TFR diet. Looks very hard core to me. I’d never have such dedication.
