Welcome to Weight Loss Wednesday week 27!
Seriously, if I could write about everything that has happened in the last week, you would no doubt be reading this post all day long, but at least you would be entertained… so let’s stick to the fitness side!
After flouncing out of the gym on Thursday due to 4 treadmills being out of service and everyone else just walking on theirs, I decided it was time to run outside.
Connecting my Suunto Ambit3 Run with the Suunto Movescount app and Strava via Bluetooth (very handy indeed!), I snuggled into my Flip Belt and my running gear and off I went…
Oh how different running outside is to running on a treadmill. My body is totally conditioned to running on a treadmill now and I was not prepared at all for the change in gradient or simply running on a different terrain.
Within 2 minutes I found myself having to walk, simply as the path I was running on is a very well concealed uphill route. Running back down was awesome and I even managed to get a 5.55 minute kilometer… it really just is not sustainable though. With the race this Sunday, I need to pull something out of the bag – 5km is do-able, I just need to ease my pace outside as I was running far quicker than I do on a treadmill… I need a pacer! The Suunto was epic to use though and every detail was recorded. I must have spent an hour analysing all the data… I even gave the thumbs up to another runner and she returned one… 😉
Food wise, I have been continuing on the New You Plan and despite a 3lbs gain last week from planned blips, despite having two days off over the weekend due to going out and having a night on the town and eating very sensibly on the Saturday… my weight loss this week has been 6lbs! I am now at my lowest weight for a VERY long time and am 4lbs away from losing 3 stone this year.
To say I am elated is an understatement and after purchasing another 3 weeks of the New You Plan, I am hoping to get as close to my target set at the start of the year as possible.
Sheer determination, motivation and just being totally in the zone have got me this far… if I can do it… so can you!
