With the summer holidays coming to an end, it is hard to believe I have really only had the pleasure of Liv’s presence for just over a week. The house has generally been tidy… all up until just over a week ago. Now the house resembles the usual tip, with toys and crafts all over the place. If I did not love my hair as much, I probably would start ripping it out.
The one thing that my house lacks is space… and a child who puts things away when she has finished with them.
Whilst I should have spent time over the summer decorating my house, I took the executive decision to take time off and enjoy my much needed free time to its fullest. Well, there is no denying that I did that… and that meant no decorating was done at all.
Meaning that any ideas of storage ideas were also put on the back burner!
Coming up to Autumn though (have we actually had a summer?!) I really do want to make my house cosy in order to cope with the long, dark nights.
Ideally I would love a minimalist look to my house, however I gave up on that idea a long time ago. With a child and a dog, it simply is not going to happen. If you are able to crack on and create a new look in your house, for more inspiration click here.
How lush would it be to have a wood burner to cwtch close to throughout Winter? Showing my hopeless romantic side there… yes I do actually have one! I have always lusted after a wood burner, though know it would cause havoc to install and would take up too much space… something that I am actually looking to create!
Moving away from the family living space, I would love to be totally selfish and create my own home gym – where I am not too sure, however, it still does not stop me wishing I could have one. A neighbour has just created one and took great delight in showing me around whilst I ‘ummed’ and ‘ahhed’ in utter jealousy. I really can go off people!
All my plans really do not help with creating more space, nor my decorating dilemma. Though you can bet I am trying my best to meet a decorator who will solve that problem for me!
