Welcome to Weight Loss Wednesday and many thanks to all those who linked up last week! It has been inspiring to read about your journeys and success so far – also great to read about a fellow Weight Watcher too! Slimming World does appear to be the most popular diet, simply because it fits in so well with everyone’s lifestyle and you do not have to forgo favourite foods.
I always found that tracking helped me greatly when I started out last January. MyFitnessPal was a godsend for me, especially as I found the Weight Watchers app kept crashing, but by all accounts it does work now. Recording all the food I ate certainly helped me manage my daily points allowance and helped me maximise my weight loss at the start of my journey.
I’m not going to bleat on about how well I was doing on the New You Plan until my planned meal on Friday… nor how I am feeling utterly pants right now because I have been scoffing for England and am hiding from the scales (normal service shall be resumed after a trip to Jamie’s Italian later in the week!). I remembered how I was feeling around 6 weeks into my weight loss journey last year, so decided to spread some inspiration and motivation… I hope!
Before starting my journey, I utterly detested full length pictures of myself and hated anyone even attempting to take them. Jenny was my nemesis at the time as she would take pictures of me and send them over… nowadays, I think she is fed up of me asking her to take pictures! Mentally keeping up with how much weight I have lost has been hard, picking up smaller sized clothing just doesn’t seem real somehow and it isn’t until you compare pictures that you actually see the difference for yourself.
So here we go… on the left there I am in November 2014 and on the right, there I am in August 2015. Not at my smallest but still, a picture I am proud of.
A weight loss journey is not meant to be easy, the harder you work, the greater the results. You need to find motivation and determination to keep going because the end results are definitely worth the effort!
