This morning I had the news I was hoping I would not receive… that I cannot do my usual arm weights for potentially a couple of months. Holding back tears (yes, I may have welled up ever so slightly), it dawned on me that I will now have to work on a new gym routine… maybe to target my butt and legs… but what about my arms?!

Damn kerb. Dam drink. Damn taxi. Damn shoulder. Damn everything. Damn stupid gel that is supposed to make it all better!

I am stubborn, being stubborn is what shifted the weight last year. Being told I cannot do what I want does not rest easy for me. Lord knows how actual athletes feel when they are simply told to take it easy! Your workout routine becomes everything, you actually start looking forward to it and feel guilty when you cannot train.

This has taken me back to when I first started running and sprained my knee… being out for 3 weeks was hideous. The lure of chocolate right now to comfort eat and make myself feel better is very strong, not helped by the fact we received a lovely hamper of Easter chocolate from Cadbury yesterday.

I can’t delve in though, I need to remain good and on some sort of track.

Getting into the swing of things with the shakes has been tough this week, even though Mini Me isn’t here and the fridge is empty, I have still found it tough. I’m giving myself the day off to mope and tonight shall be having Explore Asian Organic Endamame Spaghetti with some chicken pieces later on this evening. It will be different but high in protein, high in fibre and low in fat… and more importantly full of flavour.

Next week will be much better… let’s bring it on! I’m just ranting at myself more than anything!

Awww no, that sucks … but don’t get disheartened, you’ll find another workout routine to tide you over. I must admit, I haven’t got to the stage where I look forward to working out yet. It’s still very much a chore – it might happen one day though, right ?!

Oh no sorry to hear that you are injured 🙁 it is awful. Plus having to resist the hamper of chocolates! That is just cruel, I would have had one or two! Those gluten free pastas look and sounds delicious, I am popping over to take a look. Hope this week is better and your shoulder starts to improve x

OMG I need the Cadbury’s hamper in my life right now!! Although probably a good job I don’t 🙂
Sorry about your shoulder, but at least you can still gym and do other things, I really need to get back to it!

An injury is always bad news but as you say you can focus on the lower part of your body for the next few weeks and allow your shoulder to heal properly and fully and that is very important as you DON’T want your shoulder to continue to be damaged!! Sorry for sounding like your mum but I did not heed this advice some years ago and it has taken years to get back to properly fit on one of my legs so I just don’t want the same to happen to you!

I definitely need to concentrate on my behind that’s for sure! I know, I know, I am just ridiculously stubborn – I know what I can put my body through and it will still be ok, but age is creeping in now unfortunately. I’ve given myself over a week off from the gym and albeit my shoulder maybe getting better(I think) I’m losing muscle and the scales hate me. I need to find the win/win scenario! Oh you poor thing. It must really get you down when you’re so used to a particular routine. If you’re stubborn though, you’ll find a way not to let it beat you 😉 x

It totally does, weight loss does get you into a routine and it sets you back when you cannot stick to it. Unfortunately the only way I’ve found to not let it beat me is to comfort eat 🙁 Thank you for linking up with #WeightLossWednesday and hope you are having a good week chick!xx
