Welcome to the Weight Loss Wednesday Linky!

Weight Loss Wednesday Linky: Being Ill Will Not Stop Me!

Things should be back in full flow now, especially as life is back to normal after the Easter holidays and I can fit in gym visits again… however this morning I felt (and still do) like I had been run over by a juggernaut. So whilst I should have been on track with the New You Plan diet, I am sitting here, typing this post whilst nursing a sugary cup of tea, surrounded by Buttercup medicine and Twister ice lollies. Gah, I hate being ill! The thought of any food right now is actually making me feel worse, so I shall be on a liquid diet today of sorts. The offer of a shoulder and neck massage right now would be sublime!

Fear not though, I shall be having shakes, but will be making my own with fresh fruit… namely strawberries and bananas with my seriously handy Nutri Blitzer… you can check it out in action below. I’ve never been a fan of the juicing craze, however after trying a smoothie last week and realising how easy it was to make a delicious, nutritious and healthy drink, I’m quite looking forward to using the blender again!

Weight Loss has been easy to maintain recently having made smarter choices with eating habits and thanks mainly to the 6 mile hike Honey the dog and I went on earlier in the week. It was a glorious day, finished with a well deserved Peroni and the promise I need to take Mini Me to the local reservoirs for a picnic!

The hike must have seriously revved some engines because I was on fire with my run at the gym yesterday and even managed to increase reps on the Overhead Press without wincing in pain. The steady progress on my torn rotator cuff has been phenomenal  but I think stubbornness plays a part! Not content with simply doing the physio recommended exercises with the resistance band… I’m also doing Sim recommended weights too… but mild weights, slowly increasing the reps. Rest days are very much needed, so how I’m feeling today is probably down to my body telling me to simply chill today and get back on it tomorrow. There are no calories in Twister lollies are there?! 😉

It really does feel like such a hard slog this time, mainly due to my shoulder but being ill will not stop me! What I’ve learned is that I do not like being out of action, it’s the element of not being in control that I do not appreciate. It simply has to heel in its own time and I have to be careful not to set my progress back.

How are you doing this week? Are you back on track now that the Easter holidays are over and everything is back to normal? Are you finding yourself increasing efforts as summer finally approaches?

I’m trying really hard to stay on track, but have found it difficult lately. The Easter Holidays threw my gym routine right out of the water and I’m struggling to get back into it!

That looks like a beautiful place for a walk. Sorry to hear you’re under the weather – th juices sound like a great way to pack yourself full of vitamins to stave off the germs 🙂

That doesn’t sound good, but I’m glad you’ve found a way to still eat healthily. I used to be sceptical about smoothies and things, but now I have one for my breakfast most days!

Thanks for hosting 🙂

Really hope that you start feeling better soon, it’s so frustrating when your brain wants to go/do things and the body just can’t!

That looks a really lovely place to walk, I live just down the Road from Styal Country Park and should use it more.

Oh no hope you feel better soon. I’ve come down with man flu myself actually, feel like I’ve been hit by a truck! What a gorgeous place to go for a walk. Hope you feel better this week x
