I don’t know about you but I am generally happy to ride out birthdays, preferring to remain ignorant to the fact I am officially a year older. However my birthday last week was spent in the most awesome way – I spent the whole day with my buddies and could not have been anymore special!
Starting the day with the obligatory selfies with Mini Me, it would have been rude to not treat myself to a scrummy bacon and egg buttie – for on birthdays there are no calories!
There were cards, flowers, drink and chocolates galore… alas, no Brock O’Hurn… maybe next year!
Celebrations were extended as Mini Me and I enjoyed a wonderful meal out at the Mughli Indian Restaurant and Charcoal Pit situated on Rusholme’s Curry Mile. It was absolutely amazing and I am so lucky that Mini Me loves Indian food – as you can see from our collection of images she was in her element. The review will be going live over on Manchester Mummy.
Shame Manchester City Council decided to collar me with a Bus Lane fine for having one tyre over for a second. Robbing bastards!
However that did not dampen what an awesome weekend it was – I even made a gorgeous roasted vegetable couscous dish – having never cooked with couscous before I think I did a sterling job! The ingredients had been sent to us via Co-op Food as part of their #NowCookIt campaign with @SORTEDFood. The aim is to prove that anyone can cook from scratch and that cooking is fun! The fact that the guys behind SORTEDFood are easy on the eye is a bonus… go and check them out on their @SORTEDFood Twitter account for more info and recipes.
I am so excited to cook the rather cute Heck heart shaped Fair and Square sausages we were recently sent. Obviously Valentine’s Day inspired
The weekend was topped off by a friend who was present at the Chelsea vs Brentford match sending me pictures of Diego Costa! Tickets to the match would have been better though! 😉 An awesome birthday and one that I am glad that I did not ignore!
