An Updated Fitness Routine Really Does Work!

Kopparberg Light Fitness

It has been quite some time since I wrote a fitness post but here I am, sat writing this post with legs of jelly after my first gym visit of the week… the next one is tomorrow.

Clearly the reason for wanting to get fit is due to summer hotting up, but also for the fact my fitness routine has changed.

Cardio is out. Weight training is in.

I have no choice really, my gym buddy is a Sergeant Major type and has devised certain routines to target areas such a core, back, shoulder, triceps, biceps and more importantly… the butt!

It has totally changed my approach to fitness and I am using equipment that I would never have considered before, I have even discovered a room I never knew about… I have been using the same gym for 3 years… I’m slightly ashamed at that, however weights were something I never really concentrated on before.

I do feel guilty about my lack of time running, however am finding time at the end of my weekly sessions to have a short run or jump on the rower. Unless I am sweating I do not feel as if I have worked hard enough, but who knew that concentrating on weights so much would have such an effect. Targeting areas to work on is definitely the way forward and I am enjoying my workouts even more… even squats!

Food wise, I am trying to get back into the New You diet but have been struggling due to the current heatwave, life is far too short not to enjoy a BBQ in the garden and I have been attempting to stick to ‘more protein, less carbs’ to minimise damage.

Kopparberg Light Fitness

I have been sticking to drinking plenty of water and black coffee, however did have a crafty Kopparberg at the weekend. The Kopparberg Light with Raspberry is available in 250ml cans, making them easy to chill and enjoy… the best thing about Kopparberg Light? It is 82 calories per can! Meaning that even following a healthy regime, you can still enjoy a nicely chilled cider. Still with the same great taste, but less calories! You can currently stock up at Tesco for £1.60 per can.

Be expecting more fitness routine posts in the next couple of months. You may recall our weekly Weight Loss Wednesday and from the 1st July will be featuring the monthly ‘Feel Good Linky’ for any fitness, weight loss, wellness and general Feel Good posts. It would be fantastic if you could join us!

Weight training is very effective but I do think a mix of weights and cardio provide the best effect.

I am so glad you’re enjoying your work-outs more. I happen to like cardio much better than weight lifting, but it really doesn’t matter which regimen you choose as long as you get moving. I totally understand about the BBQ cravings. #PoCoLo

Good luck – and that raspberry cider sounds yum, but dangerous. Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo

Thank you and yes it is very dangerous – it seems that everything that is bad for us tastes so divine!
