It’s time for my weekly fitness post and albeit the fitness side has been working well the past week, the food side… not so much!
I am really enjoying concentrating on weights and am already noticing a difference in my arms and shoulders. The time in the weight room is definitely paying off, I am so glad my gym buddy found it and we can happily crack on with our routines. Comments from a 50 year old man (I state man very loosely) this morning at the end of our 30 minutes session when he walked in about us just checking our phones (school text) and how he would love to use the app that gave him muscles too. This was the very first time I have seen him in the gym in 3 years… I should have pointed him in the direction of my weight loss journey! Men! Thanks for spurring me on though Dude!
I need to find the focus to stick to the New You Plan though and stay on track. It may be somewhat extreme to follow a total food replacement diet but it works for me and I am happy following the diet. If you are looking for a diet that is targeted towards your fitness goals, then there are several fitness and health food subscriptions on the market that can help.
We recently tried some of the selection of protein based meals from Prepp’d to see how tasty they were and if the food really does fuel your fitness goals.
The delivery is very convenient and you can have your meal box delivered either to your home address or work from Monday – Saturday. Using only clean, high quality ingredients with no added sugar or preservatives, each meal is designed and cooked by trained chefs with the right amount of Proteins, Fat and Carbs. The amounts are clearly labelled on the lids of each meal so you can easily work out targets for the day.
The range of food available is amazing and with Breakfast, Main Meals and Desserts to choose from, expect to spend quite some time on the site!
Simply choose from Muscle Gain or Fat Loss and then Meat & Fish or Vegetarian to personalise your box. Plans are available for a 5 or 7 day box, with the 5 day box including 5 x breakfasts, 5 x lunches and 5 x dinners, clearly the 7 day box contains 7 of each item. The 5 day box is priced at a one time price of £119.99 and a 7 day box priced at £164.99. Weekly subscriptions which can be paused and resumed are available and these reduce the price by 5%.
We tried the Kung Po Chicken, Chocolate and Banana Protein Pancakes and Chocolate Protein Eclairs, as yet the Spaghetti Bolognese is yet to be tried. Personally I was not full from the main meal, that’s not just down the fact I am greedy, but simply because I definitely needed more. Maybe the King Po Chicken would suit a lunch over an evening meal. If you are a fan of buckwheat flour and whey protein powder then you will no doubt enjoy the eclairs and pancakes, alas I clearly still need the full fat version though Mini Me could quite happily have chomped through all the pancakes!
Having your meals prepared for you really does take out the hassle of having to weigh out and cook food, especially when they are delivered straight to your door. All the food is frozen, so simply place it in the freezer when it arrives and take it out as an when needed to defrost correctly.
Here’s to next week!
In the meantime, don’t forget that they Feel Good Linky will be going live on Saturday 1sy July. It is a month long linky and you can link up as many fitness, weight loss, healthy eating and general wellness related posts as you wish. See you there!
