Ideas For Transforming My Living Room

Spring fever is definitely in the air and for the first time this year I turned my heating off yesterday! Proving that Mother’s Day was a lovely day, however come the next day and the heating is most definitely back on again!

Preparing for the big Spring Clean is gearing up thanks to these fantastic tips from Manchester Mummy, which give you a good starting point for making space in your home.

I especially like the idea of hiring a skip in order to get rid of all the clutter in my house. It seems to accumulate constantly and my green recycling bin is forever filled with masses of cardboard, I just wish it would be emptied more than every 3 weeks!

What do you do with the extra space in your home though? Do you utilise it to create a new area in a room or do you simply refill the space?

I have a fantastic wall space in my living room which I am looking to fill. Currently it is home to the dog’s rather large dog bed which fits perfectly into the space, however I do not want it to be there forever.

I am currently toying with so many ideas of how to re-invent my home and realise this is easier if I start room by room. The living room is the perfect place to start!

Ideally I would love to change the laminate flooring to carpet, however with a dog who has muddy paws, this is impossible at the moment and having laminate makes it easier to keep clean. A carpet would be warmer underfoot and certainly softer to walk on, so I shall just bide my time with this and look at rugs as an alternative.

The space currently housing the dog’s bed would be perfect for a sideboard, especially as it would be great for storage, something I struggle with in my house unfortunately. I am keeping my eyes peeled for the ideal unit but, just like a man, I am probably searching for the impossible!

As a blogger, I do work work from home and mainly find myself seated on the sofa, feet up and listening to music via my Google Home. It is utterly relaxing and this year I have found myself to be more motivated and as such my time is much more productive… I’ve even started using Pinterest more! With this is mind it would make sense to set up an office space to help the productivity flow throughout the year.

I have seen a gorgeous writing desk over on the Lionshome site, which is currently on sale making it even more attractive. Although a writing desk doesn’t have the amount of storage I would prefer, it does offer a fantastic working area which could be my little corner away from the hustle and bustle of daily home life.

The options for transforming my living room are limitless and I am really enjoying researching, if I could buy everything I probably would… and then I would be back to square one!

Are you preparing for a big Spring Clean? Do have grand plans for how to utilise the space you create?

We’re quietly decluttering at the moment, but currently we’re in the Tubblet’s bedroom. It’s a mixture of teenagers palace and all the childhood things! We need to find a balance as we only gave so much space

I am looking to adjust my living space a bit. We have a small house but need to make better use of the space. It is not easy. #pocolo

Hi Sim, I’d love to transform our living area, but because of the layout of the room there is only one way to have it that is practical and works. We do have marble floors but lay down huge carpet rugs each winter, which can be easily scrubbed down in spring. I’d love an office or even a proper little cornet to call my own, maybe one day.

That desk is gorgeous – I always think a desk would make me more productive. But siting it right is so important so you don’t feel cut off from everything. thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo
