With Summer in full swing, the glorious weather may well be weighing up the benefits of moving home or house renovations. Full days in the sun make everyone happy and look at life in a different way, with thoughts turning to what changes need to be made.

From a personal point of view, it is much easier, less stressful and somewhat cheaper to make home improvements around your home. Some people will re-design bedrooms, update living rooms with a new sofa and accessories or even renovate their kitchens to spruce up the heart of the home.

If you are considering renovating your kitchen, here are some tips to keep in mind to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Preparation area

Worktop space in kitchens is priceless! Do you ever find yourself with not enough space to prepare your meals? Don’t make that mistake when designing your own kitchen, ensure you have enough worktop space that is easily accessible.

Hire a professional

There are far too many rogue traders out there offering their services, generally at a cheaper rate making you believe you have ‘bagged a bargain’. The reality is that you will not be left with the dream kitchen you had envisaged. That’s why it is advisable to speak to the professionals! Kitchen specialists such as Kitchen Warehouse offer a whole host of knowledge when it comes to kitchen renovations and will ensure you are happy with the results of your new kitchen.

Appliances

A kitchen does not tend to be renovated on a regular basis, which is why it makes sense to install the latest appliances to ensure longevity. Smart home are now becoming increasingly popular, alongside aesthetically pleasing appliances. Sleek, easy to maintain and clean and in-keeping with your new kitchen.

Taking the easy route

If your budget doesn’t allow a large kitchen renovation, there are other simple alterations you can make to give the room a whole new feel. Replacement kitchen doors can totally change the dynamic and feel of a kitchen and fortunately, it is a much easier task than a full make over!

We recently renovated my dad’s kitchen and I can’t agree more with getting a pro! I thought it would be cheaper buying a flat-pack and having it installed but the quotes came in higher than a custom made one. My dad is super happy with it. Just a stressful process organising all the tradies.

Ah renovating – I have a love hate relationship with it. Finally get it right and then we normally sell up and move on! One day I will get it perfect and stay put.
