Different Modes Of Transport To Consider When Travelling

Transport when travelling

Packaged holidays are great for taking away the stress of booking a holiday as everything from your travel, to transfers, accommodation and beyond are all included in one price. If you are an adventurer though, you may want to spend time planning the journey of a lifetime with lots of different aspects where a packaged holiday may not be relevant, or even be spontaneous with all your travel decisions.

Having that freedom gives you the opportunity to spend longer than expected in a destination or even just a pit stop before moving on as you are not held down by bookings.

If this sounds like your ideal holiday, let’s check out some mode of travel to get you to your next destination…

Planes

This is the most obvious form of transport and certainly the quickest, but prices can sometimes be off putting. It’s always worthwhile checking out private jet empty leg flight offers as a cheaper option. On return legs private jets may have spare seats, which they would rather fill than not and therefore offer these to the public at seriously good rates… plus it allows you to travel in style! Alternatively keep your eye on cheap flights to London for good deals on air fares.

Trains

Allowing you to simply sit back and enjoy the world in all its glory whilst chugging along. It can actually be one of the slowest methods of transport but sleeper trains are awesome for getting to you destination fully rested. Train journeys abroad are also significantly cheaper than they are in the UK!

Automobiles

Hiring a car at your destination or even taking your own will give you so much freedom along the way, with the added bonus that you can fill up the car with all your necessities and home comforts. Roads especially in France are much easier than the UK to navigate with a distinct lack of traffic, making them a joy to drive on.

I’ve never heard of doing empty leg private plane trips before! Sounds like a great idea #PoCoLo

I hadn’t either but it’s something I am going to be looking at in the future – so much easier 🙂 x

I haven’t flown in a plane yet with my baby girl, train travel seems enough stress!

Flying really is the fastest but sometimes I enjoy a good drive. #pocolo

i spend most of my time flying to the UK, when I arrive it’s a mixture of car hire, trains, buses and a lot of miles on foot. i took my son on a train journey from Johannesburg to Cape Town a few years ago, it was £40 each one way and took 27 hours, we flew back #pocolo

I love a good train journey – as it’s quite an adventure. Hoping to do a train across the States soon too. Thanks for sharing #PoCoLo
