I’ve been thinking about travel a lot recently, namely the places I have visited and where I have yet to still tick off my bucket list. A recent post over on Travel Guide Blog mentioned I have actually only visited 7% of the world – most of that being Europe.
I am under no illusions that I would ever make that to 100%, but it would certainly be nice to broaden my horizons some more and increase that percentage! The world really is such a beautiful place and there are so many amazing places to visit and many Instagram worthy things to see and I’d much prefer to see it all with my own eyes.
Making Travel Plans For The Future
Being a single mum doesn’t exactly make jetting off into the sunset easy and I have come to the realisation that I will not be able to travel freely until Liv is older and flies the nest. I have a feeling she will no doubt want to come along on adventures though!
Where would I like to start?
I’ve always been curious about the Far East and beyond and feel that time spent in Australia would be a great way to kick start that. Hailing from Manchester, the city where it rains most days, it would be great to spend time in the driest continent on Earth! I would also need to conquer my fear of the sea so that I can actually go swimming at the Great Barrier Reef whilst there.
I’d quite like to visit India on my way back East, I’ve always had a fascination about the country… and the food! Such a large country, bursting with noise and vibrant colours, an organised tour around India would probably be the best way to see as much of the country as possible.
After enjoying so much time in hot countries, it would be best placed to visit the Nordic region to cool down ever so slightly and prepare myself for the weather at home. Having recently written an article on why you need to visit Iceland, I ended up selling a trip there to myself and it has now found a firm place on my bucket list!
