This is the first year in quite some time that I have not made any concrete resolutions. By the time the sun starts shining again, all promises made at the start of the year tend to be forgotten anyway. So, this year I have decided to set mini goals for 2019 throughout the year and then reflect upon how well I have done in December!
My goals for 2019… so far…
Health Goals for 2019: Christmas is the perfect time to treat yourself and despite following Keto religiously for two months I knew I was going to allow myself a break so that I could enjoy some homemade roast potatoes at least.
What happens when you come off Keto is not nice! I very quickly realised that carbs do not like me and longed for the normality of the Keto lifestyle. Within a few hours of Christmas lunch where my only treats were one Yorkshire pudding, a couple of roasties and a honey and mustard roasted parsnip I had a food baby, a headache and all I wanted to do was sleep! When your body has adapted to a lack of carbs… and therefore sugar, you certainly know about it when you eat them.
Already a good week back into Keto and I am feeling fantastic again – with so many wonderful events to look forward to this year, I am already spurred on to stay on track!
Fitness Goals for 2019: At the beginning of 2018, after losing my gym buddy I decided to also lose my gym membership too. I had found my stride with a diet that suited me and was happy with my decision. Now however, I find that I am missing the routine of my gym workouts, so have decided to be more active away from the gym this year. I can still do weights and use my exercise bike at home, I love gossip fuelled walks with friends, but this year I shall also get back into running. Something I used to love but gave up due to time being of the essence. This year I plan to make more time to get out there on a run and help to improve my overall fitness. I certainly don’t intend to run any marathons in the near future, I will just get back into running for me… and hopefully Liv can join me too!
Blog Goals for 2019: I really do need to stop procrastinating this year – after arming myself with two gorgeous year planners, I have no excuse but to be organised! My plan is to increase the time I spend on improving my site SEO. I have so many fabulous posts that offer fabulous tips and advice, alongside year’s and year’s of reviews and to resurrect and push them! I will be saying yes more often this year… alongside saying no more often. Time is precious and sometimes as a blogger, you forget the world still revolves when you aren’t typing, liking, retweeting, designing, editing, coding, maintaining etc. This is definitely the year for prioritising more. To those who think blogging is simply about how many free things you can get, think again – so much behind the scenes work goes into a post before you publish it, those who believe it is easy are laughable! I shall definitely be more proactive with Sim’s Life, Travel Guide Blog and Manchester Mummy this year, but less available in some respects. I shall also be keeping up to date with responding to emails… if I still owe you a response, apologies… you will be hearing from me soon! 🙂
For now, those are my mini goals for 2019 to work towards, all positive and something to definitely keep me on track. I am sure I will be adding more to the list as the year moves on, but for now these will keep me occupied!
