I am a fan of pork scratchings and tend to stock up on pork rind from the butchers. Rub lots of Pink Himalayan Salt onto the rind and into the scores on top. Crank up your over to just over 200 degrees and pop your baking tray with salted pork rind in for roughly 40 minutes, or until crispy. Dips such as sour cream and guacamole make the perfect accompaniment for this tasty treat. Just be careful with your teeth!
Other Keto go-to treats that are always good to have to hand are: almonds (check carb content!), a small amount of strawberries with some double cream and dark chocolate (over 70%). I have become a fan of Choco Logic Belgian Dark Chocolate recently- with no added sugar and only 2.5g of carbs per 4 squares, it’s great to have in the fridge when needed.

Keto Halloumi Fries Recipe
You only really need to ingredients to make basic Halloumi Fries – the Halloumi itself and a pan filled with oil. I use coconut oil as it always seems to be on hand. You can use olive oil or any other Keto friendly oil. Some people choose to deep-fry the Halloumi, however I have found that a decent helping of coconut oil in a frying pan is just as effective.

Firstly, cut the desired amount of Halloumi to wish to cook, for me it always seems to be enough for 4 fries. Then cut again, but this time into the shape of chips. The cheese is easy to cut and to work with.
I purchase my blocks of Halloumi from Aldi, though it is readily available! As you can see, there are nominal carbs, with less than 0.5g of carbs per 30g of cheese and also containing a decent amount of fat and protein, Halloumi is a cheese loving, Keto follower’s dream food!
Ensure the oil in the pan is hot before placing your Halloumi sticks in. I use just enough oil to make it easy to cook the fries on a side at a time. The cooking time is around 5 minutes, making it a very quick snack to make. Keep flipping the fries over for a golden finish on each side.
You will know by sight when they are ready! Move from a pan onto a paper towel to soak the excess oil and then simply serve and enjoy – with or without a Keto friendly dip! The Halloumi Fries will be somewhat harder in texture, giving the appearance of fries, but with more yumminess!
