Christmas Giveaway: Win Jumbo Packs Of Stib Inspirational Colouring Pencils

It’s time for a new Christmas Giveaway on Sim’s Life, featuring items from one of my favourite blog posts of the year!

I’ve been doing a lot of personl and professional development this year and I would like to continue with that, but it’s also made me realise that I don’t really know myself anymore and I’ve allowed myself to become someone that I’m not happy with. I don’t want to look back in another year and see no change, so I’m planning on seeking more discomft (check out Yes Theory if you need to know more), say yes more and do things that scare me to help me grow as a person. I’m hoping by the end of 2020 I will look in the mirror and see someone I’m proud of, as well as being able to say that I know myself a little better.

As much of a contradiction this is, my goal has been to stop setting ‘strict’ goals and start focusing on progress. Goals can be great but they can also lead you to beat yourself when you don’t hit a target. I just want to start asking myself each night, “Did you move forward today?”

I dont set new years resolutions as they arent sustainable. Instead I pick an area of life that I want to work on in the coming year – last year it was to get stronger so I booked a couple of weight lifting classes and some PT sessions to learn to use the equipment and added it to my regular gym routine. I think next year I will work on my tendency to have too much clothing

Go with the flow – read for as long as you like in bed, sleep longer in the morning if you want, get out and about, learn something and meet someone new every day. You don’t need to colour inside the lines any more. Now I’m retired I have time to do this!

I need to get back in the swimming pool, a few years ago I did the equivalent of Dover – Calais – Dover in 12 weeks to raise money for British Heart Foundation and raised £252, it would be great to achieve something like this again and it is good for my fitness levels
