Have you found it easy to adapt to working from home? The internet connection issues…the conference calls where your children guest star…trying to manage your time effectively and get all your work done before 5pm…it’s a steep learning curve, to say the least. Some of us are counting down until we can head back to the simplicity of the office again.
Working From Home: What You Need To Succeed
Working from home does get easier, however, if you really want to improve your efficiency and your productivity whilst you’re working from home then you may need to make some simple changes to your working space. Here we’ll look at what you need to succeed when you’re working from home.
Make sure you have everything you need
You won’t get much work done if you’re searching for equipment and constantly running out of ink in your printer – check out printerinks xerox if you’re looking for ink replacements – so, before you settle down for the working day, make sure you have everything you need to get your job done. Pens, paper and notebooks, headphones, headsets, your wireless keyboard and mouse set up – have it all close by and available to you at a moments’ notice. It’ll make everything much simpler and more efficient.
Keep everything clutter-free
Clutter is stressful. It really is that simple. So, if your workstation is covered in the kid’s toys, rubbish, old plates and dirty cups then you’re going to start to feel the strain. Take some time each day to go through old paperwork, clean the area and remove the clutter. You’ll feel better for it.
Good lighting
There’s no point straining to see your laptop screen or being blinded by the glare. Having good lighting is key to productivity and happiness at work. Natural light is best of course, but when it gets a little darker, opt for warm coloured standing or desk lamps.
A good chair
Whether you’re working from an office desk, or you’re sitting at the kitchen table when you’re working from home you need to preserve your back and work on your posture. A good chair with plenty of support will keep your working for longer and make you less susceptible to back problems later on in life.
A distraction-free workstation
You might need your phone for work, but do you need all the social media and games apps that come with it? Consider uninstalling the apps you don’t need during your working hours to keep yourself focused.
