Our Lockdown Week Of Treats

Lockdown Week of Treats Crochet Rainbow

That’s another week down, I forgot what week number we were on ages ago… Groundhog Day continues! It has been another week of activities in the Sim’s Life house, which may have resulted in another cake being baked… read through our lockdown week of treats to check the cake out!

Deliveries have been a highlight of our week, with each treat mail putting big smiles on our faces! So what has arrived this week – I cannot be precise with the days I’m afraid, I’m barely trying to remember when Emmerdale is on!

fourfivecbd immune system support box

An immunity supplements box arrived on Wednesday filled with lots of awesome immune boosting supplements that we all need right now! Check out the latest giveaway to win an immunity supplements box worth £39.99.

Crochet Rainbow Lockdown Week of Treats

We picked up a gorgeous crochet rainbow on Thursday, made by Sarah’s (book hamper lady) friend to hang from our window just in time for the Big Clap! I love how our local community it coming together to produce such wonderful crafts with proceeds donated to local causes. It has made me want to pick up my half finished crochet blanket and finally finish it! Lockdown really has made me want to craft more, such a relaxing pastime, which leads me onto…

Material for masks for lockdown crafting

Our new bundle of material and elastic arrived to continue making face masks for added reassurance when venturing outside after lockdown. My sewing is starting to improve somewhat so at least the masks aren’t as wonky!

GlossyBox Lockdown Treat

I ordered a GlossyBox treat for Liv last month, knowing a box filled with make-up goodies would cheer my little tween lady up. It really did put a huge grin on her face, especially the lip balm and eye shadow pallet which has been added to her growing collection. I managed to bag the hair mask, scalp treatment which will come in handy! At this point, I’ve washed my hair 3 times during lockdown!

Baking cakes during lockdown

Liv couldn’t wait to make another lockdown cake on Saturday and was excited when she found more cake toppers to decorate our latest bake. Hat’s off to Betty Crocker cake mixes and pots of icing, they have proved to be invaluable the past few weeks!

We even ventureed the furthest we have been since lockdown came in on Thursday…  trip to the petrol station, it really was like a grand day out! Taking no chances, I was the only one decked out with a face mask and gloves, but there were only two other cars there fortunately. Such a mundane weekly task that just came naturally turned into a mission and a half! The saving grace was the fact petrol was finally under a £1 per litre… and we cannot even travel anywhere!

Days have been spent working and homeschooling, walking and completing chores around the house, so treat mail has really cheered us up and put smiles on our faces this week. The sun many not have been shining as much as we would have hoped, however we are totally ready for the heatwave due next week.

MELANIE EDJOURIAN May 18, 2020 at 7:38 pm

Sounds like I should give the cake mixes a try. My daughter keeps saying she wants to make more cakes and that would make it so much easier than making from scratch.

Karen Langridge May 18, 2020 at 10:51 pm

Another baking triumph that looks so good! Well done Liv on the decorating. Totally feel like we need the return of the sun, lockdown is so much more fun basking in the heat! That rainbow is gorgeous, really bright and cheerful x

some good boxes there, ill be honest i think the Betty Crocker cake mixtures are fine, and does the job, there a good way of teaching basics of baking and taste nice, you can till ad your own style on them if you want. The Rainbow Crochet is nice btw.

That is a lot of treats in a week! The cake looks amazing. I’m impressed that you are making your own masks. We haven’t worn any or tried to make them either. My mum has offered to make a couple for us – I just need to dig out some old Tshirts for her.

Jenny May 19, 2020 at 10:22 am

the cake looks great and I love the plate in is sat on.
Never thought to add tassels to my rainbows.
That looks like a good pile of face masks. I may have to consider buying/making one if we need them to go out with me being allergic to the ones you can buy

That cake looks amazing. Well done Liv on the decorating. We really do need the sunshine. And well done making those masks. I am looking for fabric, but everywhere seemed to have such a long delivery time. Where did you get yours? Hugs and love xx

Mudpie Fridays May 23, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Oh I love the rainbow crochet! It is so pretty.I must admit the happy post is keeping us going too at the moment. I have also brought some fabric to make masks out of – although not attempted it yet. I am not very good with a machine so will probably do them by hand.

Galina V May 23, 2020 at 11:21 pm

Looks like my comment has disappeared. I wanted to say that your lockdown cake looks delicious, and so pretty too. The rainbow crochet looks lovely. The fabrics stash is fetching, I bet your masks look pretty. I don’t have a sewing machine, and my handmade masks won’t win any prizes for sewing skills.

chickenruby May 24, 2020 at 7:15 am

What a fab week of treats, love the cake Liv made, looks so pretty. I had a jigsaw puzzle sent to me this week, that has taken over my life for a while and has slowed me down.I still haven’t got round to learning to crochet. Elaine at Fun as a Gran sent me a couple of crochet pieces so I could carrying on with the pieces. I really need a one to one tutorial though, you tube isn’t working for me

Natasha Mairs May 24, 2020 at 8:57 pm

What great treats. I really love the look of that cake, so yummy.. I could just eat that right now

Andale Seaworne May 25, 2020 at 3:24 pm

That;s alot of deliveries. That’s a lovely crotchet work. Good to make masks but know that surgical masks are much better to use than cloth masks. The cake looks amazing! I’m doing my share of baking as well.

Fozia S May 28, 2020 at 4:31 pm

Oh your cake looks amazing! Love the little flowers on it.

That crochet rainbow is so pretty! I tried my hand at crochet but didn’t get very far
