Well, as far as this week goes… I have no idea what day it is!
The summer holidays on the back of lockdown have meant that every day feels exactly the same as the previous! Emmerdale is almost like a gatepost as to what day of the week it is! Please tell me it isn’t just me!
Project 366 is going to be a little different this week… I’m literally just going to dump what we have been up to on you… sorry! 😉
Sim’s Life
Lots of backend work this week but I did manage to feature a lovely giveaway to win The Real Coco Chanel book. Whether you have an interest in fashion or not, it’s always nice to read more about inspirational people who shaped the world. There is no denying Coco Chanel was a pioneer in the fashion world. We have her to thank for ‘the little black dress’! If you want to know more, there are details on where to purchase the book… but definitely enter the giveaway for your chance to win one!
After a short break from using Instagram, I finally managed to upload 2 images this week! Fond memories from our recent break away in Wales were we experienced the most fabulous weather we could have wished for. We have had a few days respite from rain this week, but still not enough for my liking. I’m a definite sun bunny!
Crochet
I’ve nearly finished my crochet blanket now and have more planned in the pipeline! Aldi have has some awesome wool bundles on their site recently and crocheting blankets has been such a fantastic way to clock off from all the madness going on in the world right now. Once Liv has gone to bed and I have finished work, I get to enjoy an hour of crochet with some cheesy TV. I am still loving The Real Housewives of New York City and now have Karen from Missing Sleep and other friends hooked too… I may owe them an apology!
Trips out
We have had a few trips out to visit friends in a socially distanced manner this week and it has been much needed! Now more than ever due to the government’s decision on Thrusday evening to put Greater Manchester and a few local areas on a mini lockdown again. Apparently we aren’t allowed to visit friends in their homes or their gardens… but I can go to the pub and if a friend is in there at another table, shout over at them. Go figure. Absolute utter madness. Oh… and I could still go and have my haircut… but my buddies cannot sit 2 metres (plus) apart in my garden.
We have not let the craziness step stop us though, as we have taken a few more trips down our local walking path this week to inspect the Totty Snake whilst ending up in our local park (pictured above). People watching is a favourite pastime of mine and we had such a great vantage point to simply watch everyone going about their business in the park. Unbeknown to us, we also happened to be captured on a BBC North West piece about the Totty Snake! With over 5,000 painted rocks now lined up, it appears that we are heading for a world record… and we had a ‘blink and you will miss it’ moment in the news report. A highlight to our week! The peacock stone is a new addition and our favourite recent spot…
The lowlight? Watching Chelsea lose to Arsenal in the FA Cup final. I have no words at the moment… however this lovely lot do! Go and check out more Project 366 – Week 31 posts below…
My brother will be very pleased about Arsenal’s win.
Love that first seaside photo – great perspective. Can’t believe the rock snake is so long. That’s madness.
No it’s not just you! I am forever losing track of what day it is. It’s Corrie which keeps me on track with the days now. lol
Lovely photos. I love that one of the beach and your blanket is looking fab!
The new lockdown rules are a bit stupid, can’t visit a friends house but you can see them in a pub. It is madness!
That must have been funny to appear on the TV news! The new tightened lockdown rules sound like a real pain, but I suppose if they have to be done, they have to be done! Hopefully they will ease off again and soon. They are certainly a useful reminder to everyone, whether or not they are in the area, that the virus hasn’t gone away and we do still need to be careful.
Your blanket is looking fabulous.
The madness of our government guidelines – don’t even get me started. The crochet looks fab, I tried once at Britmums and failed, must try again some time with that. #366
You’re definitely not alone – I’d struggle with keeping track of the days too were it not for various regular Zoom meetings that help me keep track of where I am in the week. Lovely photos from your trip to Wales and I love the colours on your crochet blanket. I do find it a bit crazy that you can’t have a friend over in your garden but you can get your hair cut and go to the pub with strangers. Glad you can still enjoy the Totty Snake though and that peacock stone is amazing. #project366
It’s a bit like groundhog day isn’t it. Your photo of Llandudno looked great. I live in Cornwall so it’s been lovely exploring locally during lockdown.
I love your instagram photos – hands up I would love to be on a beach right now – just get away from this strange world for a while.
My Mother In Law is Chelseas number 1 fan and is a nightmare if they lose, and we are seeing her tomorrow so hopefully she has got over it now
That crochet blanket is gorgeous! I really wish I could knit or crochet but I can’t get my head around the instructions!
We’re in Greater Manchester too and the new lockdown rules are just baffling! These summer holidays are just so strange this year.
I’ve lost a track of days, now that my elder doesn’t go to school any longer. I don’t watch Emerdale or any soaps, so that wouldn’t help with the days. Well done on getting your moments on TV. The painted rocks are as colourful as always.
The crochet blanket is very pretty. Your photos from the trip to Wales are beautiful.
The lockdown rules are so frustrating. It’s impossible to plan anything, as things change all the time.
Days are blending into one currently, i didn’t see a big difference from lockdown to lockdown summer holidays lol, luckily weve been able to get out a couple of days to visit places, though they arent quite the same with the social distancing stuff.
So glad you are back on instagram again. On another note, yes it has been so crazy, luckily we live outside of Greater Manchester so we are not affected by this rule. Still staying in though to keep safe.
I’m losing track of the day of the week and how many days the world hasn’t been ‘normal’. Your crochet blanket looks beautiful though x
Yep I hear you completely the world is a crazy place at the moment with the local lockdowns. always nice to look back at good holiday memories though x
I love Llandudno. We haven’t managed to visit wales at all this year.
what a fab peacock rock, and how wonderful the snake has made the news.
Never looked at Aldi for wool I have to say.
Blanket looks great and totally agree is a great way to relax
I’m losing track of days too ! The blanket is looking amazing – so soft and snuggly, I’m really impressed ! The rock trail sounds great too – it’s amazing how much it’s taken off and woohoo for featuring in the report. Fame awaits you !! 😉
Hi Sim, you’re not alone in not having a clue what day of the week it is and I’m not sure it’s just down to lockdown or is that just me? I love crocheting and got back into it a couple of years ago, but over the past year, I don’t seem to have found the time for it. Maybe this winter… Don’t get me started on the what is and isn’t allowed now. I’ve limited myself to how much ‘news’ I read as it makes me giddy with stress!
xx
Lovely pictures of your trip. It makes me wanna go there. Pretty crotchet blanket. The rocks look great! It should be allowed to visit people in their gardens.
Had to smile at Emmerdale being the gatepost! Can totally relate to that!! The blanket looks amazing!
Glad you managed to meet up with friends…this whole lockdown thing is madness isn’t it?
I was gutted that Chelsea lost to Arsenal, my Dad’s side are all gooners so it made it especially painful. Sorry to hear you are back in lockdown, it does seem a bit bizarre all the new rules
That peacock rock is gorgeous! I so want to visit the totty snake, everyone seems to have put in so much effort, how exciting you got to be on TV! My famous friend! I am pleased you have posted more on instagram! Keep up the good work! Your blanket is beautiful!
To be honest I have to agree about loosing what day of the week it is! Even tho I have been back at work, I still keep getting it wrong and it all seems to be blurring into one! I love the totty snake and the peacock despite being scared of the dam things, from when I was chased by one as a kid!
That peacock rock is lovely. I am pleased you have posted more on instagram. I have avoided that for a while. Your blanket is beautiful xx
I am totally lost by what day it is. I find work is my only constant and since I am off at the moment! The new lockdown rules sound confusing I hope you are all okay. Love the look of the blanket. I would love to learn one day.
