Project 366 Week 43 Half Term Fun

Half term fun

I’ve been MIA with my Project 366 posts because it has just been absolutely manic recently! Having Liv off for a two week half term school break has meant work has been a little slower than usual, almost like back to proper lockdown style. However, I’m back and this time I have more images to include in our round up of our half term fun… catch up with Sim’s Life below…

Project 366 Week 43 Half Term Fun

Autumn walk down The Lines

School

Liv has a busy run down to half term at school and I’m glad that she is on track with homework, meaning we can actually have a rest during her two weeks off.

I’m a big fan of getting out in the great outdoors to blow away the cobwebs and with the Totty Snake now set in stone, what better time for a walk down our favourite walking path! I thought I would change from tradition and feature an image of The Lines on a recent Autumn walk. It is always so beautiful to walk along during Autumn, with some many different colours to soak in whilst ambling along.

Christmas Food Inspiration

Work

I forget how knackering work is at this point every year. The Christmas rush is on and I’m already behind on publishing the Gift Guide posts… so keep your eyes peeled for more posts and giveaways next week! However do check out the Sim’s Life Christmas Food Inspiration post! It has been hard to find the time to sit down and write words on a blank screen this past week and I’ve found myself working when most people are making Zzzzz’s, but I find that working at night is actually quite productive!

K-pay keyring

I featured a new giveaway to win a K-pay contactless payment keyring earlier in the week. Such a nifty gadget that really helps to speed up the shopping process… and also keeps you safer these days. Contacless payments offer added reassurance during these crazy times, so why not add a little funk to it!

You may have notice there has been a bit of a theme change too… I’m still working on it and need to brush up on WPBakery skills to make it look prettier , but Karen is pushing me nudging me along and making sure I stay on-track… ish!

Costa Coffee Treat

Getting Out And About

Well, the news we were all expecting came, Manchester moved into the Tier 3 category of local lockdowns and what a hu-ha it was! Andy Burnham certainly made his name known to all… and to the people of Manchester too! In all fairness, I can’t say what the dude has been up to since he became mayor, all I know is I’ve been paying towards his wage ever since. It seems that there is an awful lot of finger pointing and blame being thrown from all sides at the moment, however am I the only person who sees that NO-ONE has an actual workable solution to this shizzle?! You put men in charge and nothing gets done!

Seriously… the blame game takes up far too much effort and it is all so goddam tiresome and dull, just chill! Having said that, it all keeps the media happy as they get to fill up their column inches, which is why I gave up reading anything Covid-19 related yonks ago. We are being sensible, keeping safe and keeping contact with the outside world to a minimum… heck, we are living our own literal series of The Walking Dead! I have dodging people down as a fine art!

M&S Percy Pig

That said, we did pop into our local town to enjoy one last coffee/hot chocolate with lashings of whipped cream and shopping trip with a fabulous buddy of mine. A girlie trip out was just what we all needed and alongside some Primark bargain, I also managed to pick up some more M&S Percy Pig related goodies! I couldn’t resist the Christmas Percy Pig shopping bag… and somehow the Percy Pig cupcakes hopped in my basket too… rude!

M&S Pjs

I did have a chuckle at the new range of M&S Pjs, they are totally apt for life right now!

Half Term Fun Ice Cream time

We managed a trip out to our favourite ice cream stop and it was the busiest we have seen it all year! I guess everyone was getting in one last outing before the colder weather set in. We also racked up enough visits on our loyalty card that I managed to enjoy a free cone of ice cream, finally being able to enjoy the ‘Game of Cones’ flavour, happy days!

What have we been watching?

Inbetween the final episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Erika is still my fave!), Liv requested a Harry Potter marathon and who was I to refuse? However we are now in the anti-climatic slump and need something else to immerse ourselves into… have you got any suggestions?

What have you got planned for half term? Are you looking forward to the break?

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

I can’t get enough of the great outdoors either, even if it’s raining. Love the M&S pjs, however I’m not going into the stores at the moment, their social distancing is shot to pieces and I think they’re letting too many people in especially as most head for the food hall. No half term plans for me, just another fortnight although I will notice the lack of kids playing in the school next door

I’m liking the new look. I would leave it for now and get back to it after the gift guides – I always find them a bit stressful though. It is nice to get out and blow the cobwebs away.

the central belt of Scotland has been in lockdown as well, going to be around for a while.
Ohh the hard work of the dreaded Christmas posts, rather you then me.
Glad you enjoyed one last ice cream

I forget how busy this time of the year is, I am also behind on my gift guides as been taking part in Blogtobr. I hope you get to ease down soon

I feel your pain, about Manchester lockdown. We are in a Wales lockdown here and have been told we can’t buy non-essentials in a supermarket which includes stationery, a kettle and birthday and sympathy cards. I mean who gets COVID on the stationery aisle? People are getting it as they are mixing with family, friends, and work or school friends.

You’re not wrong, Andy Burnham is a name we all know now! I hope tier 3 is kind to you.

I think we all need those PJs though as even though we are Tier 1 still I don’t think it’ll be long x

I’m so happy to hear you got out for a bit! What a bummer about another lockdown. I’m bracing for that here in the US also… I’m sure you know we have a ton of finger-pointing and nothing getting done as well! Can we just all get on the same page and figure something out?? AH anyways, you’ve convinced me to take my son out right now and grab a delicious hot chocolate! Stay safe out there!

Glad you got to have a last day out before locking down again. I think we all need it really, although wouldn’t be much different to use at the moment anyway. Brave doing your theme from scratch.I need to try and get mine back to the previous theme, but there was an issue I couldn’t solve, so maybe I’ll try it again over the Christmas period when I’m off work.

I am not getting much outside in these past weeks, just for some short walks in the forest near my house. The weather wasn’t so great, really stormy and rainy. No plans what so ever, just some work from home and maybe plant some tulip bulbs in the garden .

We love getting outdoors too and being able to go for a daily walk was a total life saver in the summer lockdown! I can totally relate to working late evenings on blog stuff too, I always find half term lands right when I want to start getting things done for Christmas stuff on my blog so then I spent the whole first week they are back playing catch up lol!

I love how there’s so much percy pig memorabila and food stuff now. It sucks that you’ve moved into Tier 3, but as long as it keeps people safe and reduces the infection then it will be worth it x

Sounds like a busy time. Love the sound of the k-pay contactless wearable, I’m using contactless now more than ever. Love the M&S pj’s.

Your first photo is stunning, looks so autumnal and inviting. I get sick of listening to all the politicians at the best of times, right now they are all just a pita. Should live in New Zealand or get them to export their PM! #366

Love the new look blog. How lovely to have two weeks off for half-term – we just have a week here. What a gorgeous autumnal scene. Good luck with getting all the gift guides done. Glad you were able to get out for a hot chocolate before the restrictions increased again. #project366

I wish I enjoyed hot chocolate, crazy really as I tend to love most things chocolate. What a win getting a free ice cream! I need to sign up to more loyalty cards. I can totally relate to the busiest time of year. Every year I say I am not going to do Christmas guides and every year I forget just how stressful they are and commit anyway. I really need to have a look at those percy cakes. So nice you and Karen can support each other blog wise x

Wow, half term seems so long ago but it was only a week ago ! Love the autumnal walk – I love all the different colours in the trees, really beautiful. That ice cream looks amazing. Now I’m wondering what flavour Game of Cones is. Love the name ! Percy Pig seems to be becoming a major celebrity this year. I still have yet to taste one – am I really missing out ?!

That’s a absolutely amazing place to walk! I’d walk there forever! I agree, it’s sometimes easy to work when everyone’s asleep. That is a very smart way to pay without any contact. everyone blaming each other and no one has a workable solution? That’s politics, my friend. I’m having to dodge people as well, honestly all that’s left to make this year ‘amazing’ is an alien invasion and a zombie apocalypse. Cool pjs! I already have a flu so no ince cream for me. If you want something to watch, watch Manifest and I’m currently watching Scorpion which is interesting.
