Win The Real Coco Chanel Book

It’s time for another Sim’s Life giveaway! If you are a lover of fashion, or you are fascinated about inspirational people who have shaped the world, then you will love this giveaway to win a copy of The Real Coco Chanel book!

I do love a good coffee table book and the newly published The Real Coco Chanel book is no exception. There is no denying Chanel is a huge fashion house that has a timeless, contemporary look that is instantly recognisable, but what about the woman behind the name?

The Real Coco Chanel book

Published via Pen & Sword Books, find out more about the woman behind the iconic ‘Chanel No. 5’ perfume and the pioneer behind ‘the little black dress’. Chanel’s life and visions were shaped heavily by history, seeing herself as a romantic heroine, though from the book you will learn she had a rebellious streak too! Many believed Coco was a Nazi spy during World War 2, as so many influential and powerful socialites were during that time.

Book on Coco Chanel

Penned  by Rose Squeglia, the biography explores the course of Coco’s life, from her troubles and poverty stricken childhood to the opening of her very first shop.

Coco Chanel lost her mother at a young age and was sent with her sisters to an orphange by her father, as her brothers were sent to work as farm labourers. At the orphange Coco learned to sew, which was a skill that would transform her life more than she could have ever realised.

The book features three exclusive interviews with individuals who have known Coco and researched her life. The book is such a fascinating read and very inspirational and I absolutely adore the accompanying images. Despite the adversity she faced during her early years, her ambition shone through to make her name one of the most recognised in the fashion industry and the world.

Lockdown has offered people more time to read and this really is a great book to pick up and either devour in one read or pick up as and when free time is upon you.

The hardcover book has a RRP of £19.99, but currently (July 2020), the book is priced at £14.99 on Amazon.

Nice to read of how well some have done in regards to gaining skills. I think though we have missed out socially :- Seeing loved ones, friends, etc. We benefited from the roads being quieter, less pollution, slower pace of life (our own, and those around us, etc). Meant we could once again appreciate nature around us :- Plant life, birds chirping, etc. Life continuing, though different. Over time Communications improved some. Possibly due to less distractions and less disturbances. Peace and Quiet is nice and beneficial for a while. “Time and Place for everything,”, perhaps.
