The UK is such a beautiful place, with many amazing sights to take in, making it perfect for staycations! Bimingham
The area of Moseley not only inspired Ocean Colour Scene’s best album, Moseley Shoals, it also inspired J.R.R Tolkien. Who went on to write The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Whitby
Famed for its fish and chips, Bram Stoker’s wrote Dracula after being inspired by Whitby Abbey which made the perfect setting for the classic novel.
Cornwall
Such a stunning coatal area to visit, with so much to see and do. Tintagel Castle was suggested as being the birthplace of King Arthur in Geoffrey of Monmouth’s magnum opus Historia Regum Britannae.
Other writers inspired by the mythical beauty of the area include Roger Lancelyn Green, Chrétien de Troyes, and Alfred Tennyson.
With scenery as breathtakingly spectacular as this, it is easy to understand how Beatrix Potter found the inspiration. The Lake District is where she created a very cheeky rabbit named Peter!

That stationary is stunning. I always feel most creative where there is a mix of trees and water – infact that was where I came up with the plot for the novel I am currently very slowly writing.
I have not been to the UK but I do have a cousin who lives there and loves to travel. I am going to ask him if he has been to any of these places. The pen would make a nice gift too.
Cornwall and Whitby are two of my favourite places for a UK Staycation. I also love York and Yarmouth. There’s so much to see and do at all 4 places 🙂

As much as I want to staycation within the UK its often too expensive to justify the cost but Whitby is one place I want to visit.
