Lighthouse Clothing Review – Jackets

With Spring on the way, it will soon be time to update wardrobes and pack away bulky clothing. I do not know if I am quite ready to pack my Big Red puffer jacket away yet, but thanks to a recent Lighthouse Clothing review opportunity, I am certainly ready for when I do.

If you love to travel or you are dealing with British weather in the summer, you will totally understand the need to have a super lightweight, hooded, waterproof jacket that you can easily pack. Fortunately, Lighthouse Clothing offer a great selection of jackets that are practical and offer both comfort and style. There really is something for everyone!

Let’s take a look at the jackets Liv and I chose for our adventures!

Where is Lighthouse Clothing made

Whilst Lighthouse Clothing is made in China, all the design inspiration to make life a little simpler comes from Northern Ireland. The company’s love of the coast means that every aspect of design has been carefully crafted to offer the perfect raincoats.

Look good and stay dry, whatever the weather.

Victoria Waterproof Jacket in Sand Lighthouse Clothing Review

Victoria Jacket in Sand

This lightweight jacked, with a relaxed parka style design is a timeless classic. It will quickly become a reliable constant in your life, whether you are wearing it on a dog walk, for a brisk hike or simply going shopping.

Currently priced at £47.49, the Victoria design is available in Sand and a vibrant Deep Raspberry colour. Both are very flattering!

A waterproof jacket is always ideal for Spring/Summer, as living in Manchester, it really could rain at any time So the removable hood on the jacket is a bonus! The small design features are really what makes the jacket so special. Things we may not oridinarily notice, such as the Lighthouse name on the studs.

Alongside a discreet logo on the front of the jacket and a quote stating ‘live simple, live happy’ quote stitched into the inner zip section. A fabulous philosophy to remember when putting your jacket on!

I really like the Sand colour as it goes with everything. You may think that a lighter coloured jacket would show up dirt marks easily, but it does not. Made from 100% nylon, with a 100% polyester lining, the jacket can easily be washed at home.

There is a comprehensive care label inside the jacket, which offers helpful advice on looking after your jacket so that it will last years.

Sleeve Length

A highlight of the Victoria jacket is the sleeve length. Have you ever fallen in love with a jacket, tried it on, everything is perfect but your wrists feel cold because the sleeves are too short?

This happens to me ALL THE TIME! However, a clever little design trick with this jacket means there is plenty of length in the sleeve area as they are folded over at the bottom. Allowing you to unfasten and unwind as necessary.

Beachcomber Jacket in Navy

Very similar in design to the Victoria jacket mentioned above, the Beachcomber is a classic Lighhouse Clothing design. The contrasting bright pink cotton stitching really makes the logo pop and adds a fun aspect to the design.

Both jackets featured are made from waterproof and breathable fabrics, making them ideal for outdoor lovers. Though the Beachcomber has a super soft 100% polyester outer, with a jersey feel, Breton stripes nautical style 100% polyester lining. Making the jacket a little more cosy if the temperature should drop when out and about.

Both coats are very stylish and are ever so slightly longer in design, at hip length, so are great to cover up and keep your bottom warmer!

The Beachcomber design, currently priced at £59.99 is also available in Blanc, Pink, Pink Lady and Sea Blue. There is a slightly longer version too, which would certainly give more coverage.

The hood is a permanent fixture of the jacket and can easily be tucked away when not required. Giving the jacket a 2-in-1 look.

Both waterproof jackets have 2 front outside pockets, an internal zip pocket, offering plenty of options for keys and phones, in case you do not want to take a handbag with you.

Lighthouse Clothing sizing

My only gripe during this Lighthouse Clothing review is that the waterproof jackets do come up a little on the small size. This is something to bear in mind if you want to wear more than a t-shirt underneath the jacket.

If you want to feel comfortable when zipped up, then I would highly recommended choosing the next size up. When walking, you do not want to be restricted so that you can move easily.

Final thoughts on this Lighthouse Clothing review

The high quality of the Lighthouse Clothing jackets has pleasantly surprised me. It is very easy to understand why they are so popular. There aren’t any pictures of us in the coats yet as it has been brass monkeys and I live with a grumpy teen. However, the jackets are ready and waiting for our next adventure… in slightly warmer weather.

Until this Lighthouse Clothing review opportunity, I will admit that I had never really heard of the brand. Or if I had, just simply not paid too much attention. Though that changes now! If you are looking for practical, hardwearing, waterproof jackets for your family, Lighthouse are worth checking out.

Alongside the reasonably priced jackets, you can also find a range of fashion items for men, women and children. All made with the same high quality, making Lighthouse Clothing an ideal choice when looking for new additions for your wardrobe.
