I recently attended my first Bingo Thats Bonkers event for a night of fun, laughter and some bingo with great prizes on offer! The night was a Bongos Bingo alternative in a much smaller venue, but it still packed quite a punch. Carry on reading our Bingo That’s Bonkers review to give you an idea of what to expect from one of the events near you.
I really didn’t know what to expect from the evening, except for crazy games, some bingo, really crazy prizes and lots of music.
The huge state of the art sound system certainly played lots of music including hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today and had everyone dancing.
But by the time Bryan Adams ‘Summer of ’69’ came on for the fourth time, I was ready for some new music! The DJ fortunately and rather reluctantly played a few Clubland tracks at the end to keep our Clubbercise crew happy! He quickly changed the music when we all got up and started dancing in sync though!

How much are tickets for the bingo events and what is included?
My ticket price was £17.50 for the evening, which I don’t think is too bad considering we were there almost 3 hours. Tickets had to be purchased from the actual cricket club venue, there was no option to buy an online ticket, so it’s worth bearing that in mind, as well as the fact prices may well differ to what I paid.
The price is for the actual game night so expect to buy drinks and any food from the actual venue.
There was a stall selling sealed bags (£4) containing a marker pen, glow stick, inflatable guitar and whistle. If you don’t have a pen to hand, the bags are a great idea.
Other items included inflatable willies, large flashing sticks, basically what you would expect to find on Blackpool promenade. Note, you do not need to buy these, you are under no obligation!
What happens at a Bingo That’s Bonkers event?
Once you have handed over your ticket, your hand gets stamped and you’re handed a bingo booklet for 4 games. Depending on the venue, tables are laid out in long lines, so make sure you grab a spot that is accessible. Otherwise you maybe hemmed in all night!
Our evening started with a fun warm up game of heads or tails, with the final 4 people still on their feet invited to the stage. I forgot to mention that earlier! The wide range of party games may require you to get up on stage at some point!
We then cracked on with our first game of bingo whilst the hosts and djs played music and prepared for the calls of ‘house’. The hosts did read the numbers out, however there are large screens dotted around the room so that you can easily keep up with the game.
Certain numbers called will pause the game so you can get up and have a little boogie. With tracks such as Abba ‘Dancing Queen’ (Number 17), Byran Adams ‘Summer of ’69’ (Number 69). It’s a great way to break up the game, but can become quite repetitive when you have 4 games to play… with the same numbers called!
Whatever you do, do not accidentally call out ‘house’. That really is one of the worst things you can do, so expect lots of heckles for interrupting the game. Also, watch out for the dry ice, as there is lots and you will not be able to see anything! Along with the water pistols that could be used against you!
What prizes could you win?
The amazing prizes for winners of the bingo games really did surprise us. People who called ‘House’ walked away with an air fryer, food processor, robot vacuum and a £50 shopping voucher. I was quite jealous about the food processor, it is just what my kitchen needs!
Prizes for ‘1 line’ included giant inflatable dinosaurs and unicorns, whilst smaller prizes (medals and pens) were handed out for other stage games. They really were unreal giveaways to be honest and we were all pleasantly surprised, though our group didn’t win anything on the night.

So, these games certainly raised a few eyebrows! The games made the evening more ‘Ann Summers party-esque’ than Mecca Bingo and we were all glad it wasn’t us up there on the stage!
Game 1. A row of 4 women, with 4 men sat on chairs in front of them, who had to whip off their tops and have wax strips applied by the women. And then ripped off. The winning team had to produce the most hair ripped off. I’m guessing they never expected that when they eagerly agreed to take part, especially the older gentleman who didn’t look particularly happy!
Game 2. Two men found themselves kneeling back to back, chomping on whole cucumbers that were stuck inbetween random womens leg’s. The race was on to chomp the most cucumber. It wasn’t pretty!
My advice is DO NOT volunteer for any of these intermission games, unless you really want to! Everyone did get into the swing of things and there was a lot of laughter… and some pain!
We had been told that there can be stage dance off’s in the event of a bingo game tie. Fortunately for the winners that didn’t happen on this occasion, but it can, especially at Bongo’s Bingo events!

Our local cricket club venue was a fantastic choice for this event, providing ample space, comfortable seating and a well-stocked bar to keep everyone refreshed. It also allowed us to enjoy the beautiful summer evening outdoors between rounds, which was a delightful bonus.
Wrapping Up Our Bingo That’s Bonkers Review
To be honest, it was the best night out I have had in ages! More so for the fact I was out with friends enjoying a smashing atmosphere, rather than the bingo event itself. The craziness of the evening just added to the fact it was a great night out.
Whether you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or just have a night out with friends, Bingo Thats Bonkers is a really a great event to get tickets for. It’s not often that you find an event that appeals to such a wide range of people, of all ages and leaves everyone with a smile on their face!
