Nuremberg

Nuremberg’s Christmas market (Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt) is the place to be during the Christmas season.

Seriously, one of the biggest and most OG Christmas spots in Europe. People from everywhere come to check it out.

Picture cute wooden stalls all dolled up in red and white, stocked with everything Christmassy you can think of.

From Christmas-themed souvenirs, gingerbread cookies, mulled wine, roasted almonds, sweet chocolate mice, sausages in a bun and so many more!

Cologne

Similar to Nuremberg’s Christkindlesmarkt, Cologne markets sell beautiful handmade items, traditional ornaments, and special holiday goodies.

And if you’re up for some more exciting wintertime activity, there’s even an ice rink to enjoy!

But heads up: Christmas Eve and the couple of days after see a lot of spots taking a break, from museums to restaurants.

So, swing by in late November, early December, or New Year’s Eve for the full Cologne experience.

Munich

Lately, Christmas in Munich has been unexpectedly warm, and the likelihood of seeing snow? Rare. Like, twice since 2000 rare. But if snow isn’t your thing, Munich’s your spot.

And if you want to fully immerse yourself in Christmas market life, grab some salmon with sour cream and potatoes. The spots at Marienplatz or the Medieval Fair? Amazing! Don’t miss out!

If you start feeling hungry from all the sightseeing, I highly recommend the Cosa Vostra. It’s one of the best places in town to enjoy some delicious pizza. Oh and don’t skip on the local fish dishes at Zdroj or the classic Czech beer at Depo. 

Brno

Fun fact: Brno’s city centre had the very first Christmas tree in the Czech Republic, lighting up Freedom Square way back in 1924. 

Fast forward to now, during Advent, it’s a festive fiesta. Traditional stalls are all over, perfect for snagging crafts, treats, and warm drinks.

Plus, there’s live entertainment, and the Winter Bar is a must for some original Brno drinks.

Delft

Picture skating by Delft’s charming canals, fairy lights everywhere, and local markets bustling with unique finds and yummy Dutch treats.

Paris in winter is pure magic! The Eiffel Tower sparkles like a giant Christmas tree, and the Champs-Élysées dazzles with holiday markets. 

Plus, the city’s seasonal treats are to die for. My favorite is the bûche de Noël, a heavenly chocolate cake roll covered in whipped cream and confectioner’s sugar. I was blown away the first time I tried it. It’s unlike any chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted!

Lille

Visiting Lille in December? You’re in for a treat! Imagine streets lit up like a fairy-tale and a Christmas market that’s off the charts. 

Grab some vin chaud, take in the vibes and shop till you drop. Lille’s mix of festive fun and French flair is pure holiday goals.

In England,  Christmas is when streets light up and homes become snuggly. Families come together, sharing laughs over a big meal with roast turkey and a classic Christmas pudding.

London

Christmas in London is magical, the kind that you’ve seen on screen and always wished to be a part of. Exhibit A: Love Actually (2003). 

Stroll along the Thames, and you might find couples huddled together, sharing a moment under the city lights.

Soak up the ambiance in Oxford Street and Regent Street, draped in shimmering lights, with their storefronts vying for the most festive display.

And of course, don’t miss out on Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. With its rides, tempting food stalls, and the ice-skating rink, it feels like a little Christmas village right in the heart of the city.
