Graco Myavo Stroller Review: Lightweight, Compact and Easy to Fold

If you are looking for a lightweight stroller that is easy to fold, easy to carry and does not take over the entire boot of the car, the Graco Myavo is definitely worth considering.

We tested the Myavo with friends who have a young toddler, so this review is based on real family use rather than simply repeating a list of product specifications.

The things that stood out most were how light it is, how quickly it folds and how easy it is to manoeuvre. Their little boy was comfortable in it too, while both his parents and grandparents found it straightforward to use.

Quick verdict: the Graco Myavo is a good-value lightweight stroller for everyday outings, smaller car boots and travel. It is especially useful for families who want something much easier to deal with than a bulky travel system.

First Impressions of the Graco Myavo

Even before the stroller was fully unpacked, we noticed how light it felt.

Assembly was refreshingly simple too. Once it was out of the box, the wheels clicked into place and it was ready to use within minutes.

We reviewed the Clover green version, which has a lovely understated look and feels a little more premium than you might expect from a lightweight stroller.

The canopy also gives useful sun protection, which makes it handy for summer walks, holidays and longer days out.

From this point on, the feedback came from my friends using the stroller day to day with their toddler, which is exactly the kind of experience I wanted this review to reflect.

How Easy Is the Graco Myavo to Fold?

This is probably the feature they liked most.

The Myavo has an automatic stand-alone fold, so it can be collapsed quickly with one hand and stays upright once folded.

That matters more than it sounds when you are juggling:

  • a toddler
  • changing bags
  • shopping
  • car keys
  • and approximately seventeen other things parents somehow end up carrying

My friends found it really quick to fold down and open again, and the grandparents appreciated not having to wrestle with complicated catches or separate pieces.

It also takes up far less space than a bulky travel system.

The stroller folds down to a compact size, making it easier to fit into smaller car boots and store at home.

That compact fold is one of the reasons it works so well as a second stroller or for families who do not want to haul around a large pushchair for every trip.

How Much Does the Graco Myavo Weigh?

The Graco Myavo weighs just under 6kg, which is one of its strongest selling points.

That makes a noticeable difference when lifting it:

  • in and out of the car
  • up steps
  • onto public transport
  • or carrying it while dealing with a toddler

For comparison, this really does feel light rather than simply being marketed as a “lightweight” pushchair.

That was one of the first things everyone noticed when using it.

Is the Graco Myavo Easy to Push?

Yes! This was another area where the Myavo impressed.

My friends found it light to steer and easy to turn, even in tighter spaces.

The wheels and suspension cope well with normal everyday surfaces such as pavements, shops and park paths.

It is not an off-road pushchair, but for the sort of day-to-day use most families need from a lightweight stroller, it handles very nicely.

That easy manoeuvrability is also one of the reasons it worked well for grandparents.

Is the Graco Myavo Comfortable for Toddlers?

The Myavo has a multi-position recline and adjustable calf support, which makes it much more comfortable for toddlers who still need a nap while you are out.

My friend’s little boy seemed very happy in it and settled comfortably into the seat while they were out and about.

The stroller also includes a bumper bar and secure harness, while the storage basket underneath is large enough for normal parenting essentials.

That basket is one of those features you do not think much about until you actually need it.

Nappy bags, snacks, bottles, jackets and a small amount of shopping can all go underneath instead of being hung from the handles.

Is the Graco Myavo Good for Travel?

Yes, as a lightweight travel stroller, it makes a lot of sense.

Its low weight and quick folding mechanism make it much easier to deal with in airports, train stations and car parks than a large travel system.

It is also handy for holidays where you want something simple to fold away quickly.

I would not describe it as universally “cabin approved”, though, because airline rules vary. If that is important to you, always check the pushchair policy for the airline you are travelling with.

Can You Use the Graco Myavo From Birth?

The Myavo can be used from birth thanks to its reclining seat, although personally I can see why it particularly appeals to families with toddlers.

It is light, quick to get in and out of the car and easy to use for days out when a little one will happily walk for a while but inevitably need carrying approximately five minutes after insisting they were definitely not tired.

That is where a lightweight stroller really earns its keep.

What We Liked

  • easy for grandparents to use
  • good value compared with many lightweight strollers

Things to Consider

The Myavo is designed as a lightweight everyday and travel stroller rather than a large all-terrain pushchair.

It is also forward-facing, so if you specifically want a parent-facing seat, this may not be the best choice.

And if cabin-luggage compatibility is essential, check directly with your airline before travelling.

None of these were deal-breakers for us, but they are worth knowing before buying.

Is the Graco Myavo Worth It?

For families looking for a straightforward, lightweight stroller, yes, I think the Graco Myavo offers very good value.

The biggest wins from our experience were the weight, one-hand fold and manoeuvrability.

My friends were particularly impressed with how quickly it folds, how easy it is to store and how comfortable their little boy was while using it.

It is particularly well suited to:

  • toddlers who still need a stroller occasionally
  • grandparents
  • holidays and travel
  • smaller car boots
  • public transport
  • parents wanting a lighter alternative to a full travel system
