There is no denying the utmost thought has been put into designing the Kobold VK200. It is the epitome of German engineering and efficiency. Even down to how it is packaged!
How To Assemble the Vorwerk Kobold
When the system arrived in a very large box, upon opening I found a lot more boxes than expected. Alongside the very easy to follow, but rather extensive manual. After unpacking, it took less than 5 minutes to attach the EB400 Electric Brush (normal vacuum head).
Upon purchasing a Kobold VK200, an experienced advisor will always come out to you. The advisor will ensure everything is set up correctly and demonstrate how to use it correctly. It is the extra personal touch that is appreciated. The knowledgeable Peter arrived at my house the next day to show me how to use the ultimate cleaning system.
Every aspect of the vacuum and how to use all of the many accessories available was explained to me. Within a couple of hours I was left to test it to the max. I was slightly concerned about where I would store all the accessories. However the geniuses at Kobold even designed a handy pocketed bag to store the hoses and attachments in.
How Can You Use A Vorwerk Kobold VK200?
I have vacuumed laminate floor, tiled floor and carpeted floor. I even vacuumed my living room light fitting and mopped at the same time as vacuuming the hard floors. Alongside dry cleaning my carpets and my mattress. The only thing the VK200 doesn’t do, is make you a cup of tea!
Did I just write that I vacuumed my light fitting on the VK200 review? I totally did! There is an attachment that acts as a feather duster. This helps make cobwebs and dust set at a higher level easier to clean. The work that would normally take several minutes work was achieved in less than a minute, with no achey arms!
What Accessories Come With A Vorwerk VK200?
Everything about the system is designed to make YOUR life much easier and it really does. I never assumed I would write that I enjoy vacuuming, who actually does like the boring household chore? However the EB400 Electric Brush really does make light work of a painstaking task. Kobold VK200 vacuum bags (£18 for 6 filter bags) are required.
The bags have integrated odour pearls to neutralise bad odours. The pearls really do work and you do not have to deal with a usual vacuum smell. There is a cartridge section in the main body to Dovina fragrance tablets too. It is the best smelling vacuum ever!
Does the VK200 work?
With fully automatic floor detection, I was able to run across 3 different types of flooring with ease. The change in suction and the level of noise was noticeable immediately.
The vacuum is certainly quieter than expected and Peter was easily heard even when vacuuming for me! The vacuum almost glides as it sucks up dirt as opposed to pushing it further into carpets. It really is effortless to use, perfect for those who suffer with back pain or arthritis.
There are several modes to choose from including Auto and Safe Parking Mode. This is where the vacuum remains on but is simply idle. Auto is definitely my favourite mode! The vacuum knows exactly what to do, I just need to push it! I had just used my previous vacuum downstairs and what the EB400 still collected both amazed and shocked me.
The system becomes much more than a vacuum when you start adding in the attachments. The VF200 Carpet Freshener is required to spread Kobosan snow into your carpets. This helps to to dry clean before being vacuumed by the EB400.
What Is Kobosan powder?
Based on wood obtained from sustainable sources, Kobosan is environmentally friendly. Alongside having a gorgeous fresh fragrance and is so safe you can actually eat it. As demonstrated by Peter – I cannot say I tried this myself! My carpets are now past the point of no return.
Years of abuse from muddy feet and paw prints mean a beige carpet is really no longer distinguishable. However the Kobosan and EB400 are slowly bringing the carpet back to life again; thanks to the VK200 review!
It does appear to feel softer to the touch and more puffy. More attempts with the Kobosan will hopefully lift even more of the ‘non beige’ colour!
Further attachments include the PB440 Electric Upholstery Brush. Makeing light work of vacuuming stairs, hard to reach edges and corners, curtains, upholstery and even your car. This for me would be an absolute must have. It is in theory ‘the nozzle of a vacuum’ and attaches to the body of the vacuum with the hose.
How To Easily Vaccum Stairs with a Kobold VK200
You may resemble a ghost buster when carrying it around but all you will bust is dirt! With the carry handle, the body lies horizontal as you carry it. This makes vacuuming the stairs even easier and less of a danger risk. I really enjoyed using this during the VK200 review, especially when cleaning hard to reach places.
The PB440 does also come as part of a mattress cleaning set. Alongside the MP440 Dry Cleaning Mattress Attachment (massages Lavenia mattress cleaning powder into mattress). And MR440 Deep Cleaning Mattress Attachment which vibrates to loosen the dirt from the mattress surface.
At this point I am struggling on the direction of this post. There is so much to write about the VK200 review. However currently I need to inform you of my absolute favourite attachment, the SP530 DuoClean. This set comes with: the SP530 DuoClean head and SP530 Dosing Bottle.
Alongside, Koboclean 15 Universal solution and 4 x MF530 Universal Cloths. Put all this together and you can mop and vacuum your floors at the same time. Something that would normally take me 20 minutes to vacuum and then mop several times, now takes 10 minutes.
The Best Vaccum For Tiled Floors
This chore has in effect been cut in half time wise. It is no wonder I actually smile when I use the SP530! The system cleans stone, parquet, wood and all hard flooring. The oscillating movement (it jiggles) of the cloth holder simply glides over the floor. You simply have to point it in the right direction.
I noticed the difference immediately on my tiled kitchen floor. It really was much cleaner than if I had used a simple mop. Leaving me somewhat frustrated at all the elbow grease that has been wasted over the years! The cloths can also be washed in your washing machine at 60 degrees as they are re-useable! Absolute bonus!
There is no denying that I have totally fallen for the Kobold VK200 Ultimate Home Cleaning System. Every last detail has been considered. Even down to making a head release catch higher up in case you are unable to bend down. Green buttons are very visible on the crisp, white freshness of the glossy vacuum and attachments. Tending to release attachments from the main body with ease.
What did we think of the Kobold VK200 review?
I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the Vorwerk VK200 review. As the system really does make light work of one of life’s most dreaded tasks… household chores. My time is precious and I would rather spend it with my daughter than worrying about vacuuming and mopping.
The clever vacuum tells you when something is wrong. Green LED lights on the body turn amber when the bag requires changing and red if something isn’t quite right. The filters heads are very easy to clean with a simple place and click fit.
How Much Is A VK200?
My only personal gripe is the price. The Kobold VK200 starts at £749, increasing as you include more attachments and sets. Yes, I can totally see the value in the VK200. Especially as it is a powerhouse of a system coming with a 5 year guarantee. These vaccums tend to carry on for around 20 odd years and the personal Kobold customer service.
As a single parent budgeting is always at the forefront of my mind. Monthly payments are one of the finance options available. Please do not baulk at the price of the system and the attachments you would want. You do not need to pay in one lump sum.
