Half term started on a lovely note as Liv and I toddled of on a restaurant review our local La Tasca Trafford Centre, Manchester restaurant.
The restaurant is located on the top floor and has a wonderful warm and colourful atmosphere – exactly what you expect from an authentic Spanish inspired restaurant.
With an extensive menu, if would prefer a meal as opposed to tapas, there really is something for every appetite and taste.

La Tasca Promotions
There are some fantastic promotions currently running at La Tasca restaurants, include 2 for 1 tapas every Tuesday and Thursday and 2 for 1 main meals every Wednesday – both promotions run until 30th November. A fantastic excuse to try the new menu, so what can you expect?
What we ate at the Spanish Restaurant in the Trafford Centre
Pan Con Seleccion (£4.25)
A selection of bread, baked in-house. A great way to start any meal and the alioli dipping sauce is a must try! Mini Me absolutely loved this!
Pescado Rebozado (£4.95)
White fish, deep friend in an Alhambra Reserva beer batter, served with alioli sauce. The fish was tender and full of flavour, the crispy batter was cooked to perfection.
Chorizo (£4.95)
Lots of lovely pieces of spicy chorizo sausage, sauteed with caramelised red onion, garlic and thyme
Champinones (£3.95)
A lovely tapas dish filled with mushrooms, sauteed in garlic and white wine.
La Tasca Main Meals
Paella Valenciana La Tasca (£10.95 per person)
A gorgeous paella, served with chicken breast, mussels, king prawns and squid.
Kids Burger meal
Served with a burger, salad and choice of fries, rice or peas – finished with a chocolate brownie and ice cream. A cordial drink is also included with the Kids Meal, priced at £5.95.
Is La Tasca Good Value
There is no denying the food was full of taste, flavour, Spanish flair and was seriously filling to the point I had to ask for a doggy bag! I have still never learned my lesson with tapas, however I always find myself wanting to try everything as it all sounded delicious and I was not wrong!
The paella was stunning and I was warned when my order was taken that there would be a 30 minute preparation and cook time wait for this. However, it did arrive much sooner than the 30 minutes wait. It is a hefty meal for one person and I did have to ask for a doggy bag.
I didn’t notice at the time that the mussels were actually missing from the paella, which is a significant omission from a signature dish. The servers and manager were awesome though, so if I had remembered and pointed it out, it would have been corrected.
Kids Meals At La Tasca Trafford Centre
The kids meal are fantastic value, priced at £5.95 for a main meal, dessert and cordial soft drink. I like the fact that the meals automatically come with a salad. Then you choose from fries, peas or rice as additional sides.
The burger was a little on the bite size though. It would have been nicer to have a larger burger as opposed to so many fries.
Fortunately we were seated in a booth, giving us lots of space to spread out and enjoy all the food! Children are provided with crayons and colouring sheets to keep them occupied. However the wait for food was not long and I would totally recommend La Tasca as a family restaurant.
